Games that need a sequel.

..i don't think there's anyway it'll ever happen, but there NEEDS to be a "Freespace 3"..

Part 2 was a terrific game RIGHT up until the entirely anticlimatic ending...
I HATE a game who's last mission is one of those "Crap, we don't stand a chance, get to the jump point!" missions...LAME!

Max Payne 2 needs a sequel . they might as well make it a trilogy .

I was a real fan of the first two and am eagerly awaiting the third one. It looks like the only things out on Max Payne 3 right now are press releases like this one, so the game is probably a good couple of years away from release.

 

Outlaws. It REALLY needs a sequel.

 

I loved Outlaws!! Man, I'd pay ungodly amounts of money for a sequel to that game.

 

Super Mario Brothers 4

I'm talking old school, 2D gameplay. Ditch the flashy graphics and crappy gimmicks in favor of a formula that made the old Mario games classic. Such a title would harken back to the days when you didn't play video games, you played Nintendo.

 

Starcraft needs an RTS sequel and Galactic Battlegrounds also. And a new Jedi Knight game needs to be announced already.

Absolutely to FreeSpace.

The original was excellent, as was the sequel. It just didn't get much press or success on the market. However, it did create a hardcore group of fans, which unfortunately has started to die away. It's sad to go through the few good FreeSpace sites that are left and see mostly dead links.

I loved the storylines, and I want to see a resolution of sorts to what happened after FreeSpace 2, as well as know the fate of Earth.

The final cut scene for FreeSpace 1 remains spectacular more than six years after it's release, and I can only imagine what improved technology could lead to.

Yet it seems destined to remain a mystery.

Well there was Mario Is Missing for NES. But I think it's safe to say that "SMB 4" was Super Mario World for SNES.

Yeah, it is good news, but that's all we have at this moment. No good movies, no good screenshots, and no good details. Hopefuly , things will start becoming available once a developer is finalized. I thought Remedy did a fantastic job developing the first two Max Payne games.

 

Freespace fans: I found this while searching around for info on the possiblity of a third game in the franchise..

In line for sequals, id say make a second Legends Of Dragoon. That game rocked. Also they need to do another Parasite Eve

I totally agree with everyone who said there needs to be a Freespace 3. The first two games represent in my mind the two best spacefighter games ever made, and the storyline very much needs to be resolved -- not only the end of the storyline established in Freespace 2, but definitely finding out what has happened to Earth.

Wow, this thread has me off running to install my copy of FS2 again.

Which leads me to a plug. Anyone with FS2 should go here and download the Freespace Port. It's a port of The Great War and Silent Threat in their entirety to the FS2 engine. Quite cool.
