Pittsburgh, PA Gaming Tourny Trophy

As Master Renca had brought this idea out in another thread,sounds interesting.So this may be a doable thing,what/how do you guys & girls want to see this look like.An X-wing on it? D.Vader vs. Obi-Wan? Qui-Gon,Obi-Wan vs. D.Maul? A B-wing? Gimmie gimmie gimmie some ideas...

Hmmm. An X-Wing would be cool. If we could figure out a way to get a game theme into the trophy that would be great. Yes, it is going to look very good sitting on top of my computer desk!

I'll preface this by saying that I don't know if this would be even remotely doable, but it'd be kind of fun/funny...

My idea is thus:

Have Darth Vader and Luke sitting across a table from one another, board game between them. Darth is doing the ole "Hey, what's that over your shoulder?" Luke is clearly falling for it, turning around to see what Darth is pointing at. Then Darth is either manipulating pieces on the board to his advantage, or whipping out his lightsaber to club Luke over the head. (Not sure which, if any, would be easier to represent. As I noted above, this may be too complicated to represent in the form of a little gaming trophy, but it'd be kind of funny, methinks.)

My second idea would be to just have Darth and Luke saber-dueling. That's a classic.

I also like the idea of keeping people's names on the trophy for when they win it, and the dates for when they got it.

Oh yeah, a mighty hearty thanks to Tony for volunteering to fashion a trophy for us. That's uber-cool.

I like the idea of having Luke and Vader playing chess. it is very doable IMO. Plus it would look cool.

 

Maybe we could incorporate everyone's Ideas by making a 2nd and 3rd runner up trophy. I would make one and who ever else could make one.

How about using the "chess" table from the Chewbacca figure?

Or maybe just the whole figure itself and the gaming table...

I love the idea of two figures with a gameboard, but I'd rather Vader & Old Obi-Wan. Or Chewie & Threepio.

 

I like the idea of the gaming board too. And Vader vs. Luke, or Obi-wan, either of those combinations would be good. Then maybe at the bottom, on each side, but the Imperial logo, then the Rebel logo on whatever side their representative characters are on. Just a thought.

 

Why not teen Anikan vs Vader? "The War Within"

Seems that the DV/Luke ideas is most prevalent, again,wadda ya think?I really REALLY like the hologame board table and must confess that it was an idea of mine and again it isn't about just me.

I also like CK's idea of having the Rebel/Imperial logos under their representative characters.

As such, here's a re-capped summary of my idea:
Vader vs. Luke at the djarik gameboard. Vader in the process of doing something shady to cheat. Rebel and Imperial logos under their proper characters.

I like the idea of just one trophy pasted around when won. Kinda makes you wanting to win it more powerfull. ya know what I mean?

This is just my opinion. I'm not meaning to diss anyone.

If it's decided to have the 2nd and 3rd place trophies, then that's ok. I just thought that winning it all (for the trophy) or nothing (nothing) would make it more competitive. I dunno.

 

I'm all for one trophy to rule them all.

Bragging rights aint no good if there is more than one prize =)

I concur with the singular trophy idea, for the same reasons JediDave and Shewski mentioned.

However, everyone who registers and plays in the tourney will get a consolation prize just for participating. Keep in mind it's not a good consolation prize, but everybody will get something at least. So, there's that.
