Why not? They're not nearly as good in team D.
Perhaps, but their forward core and goaltending is more than enough to make up for any defensive weaknesses they may have. Getzlaf and Perry are beasts and their secondary scoring is underrated.
You can't overcome defensive weakness with offense in the playoffs. It's the other way around.
Blues definitely need Backes.
You sure? I'm pretty sure that's what Pittsburgh did.
Not really. That wasn't very recent. In 2009 they had a good defense and the competition and quality of team defenses wasn't as high as it is now. The last four years they've had the top offense in the reg season. What good has that done them in the playoffs?
I'm sure they would gotten far if Fleury was any good in the playoffs
Fleury is good enough. They just keep getting out worked.
Not really, the last 2 playoffs he has been terrible, he even almost single handedly cost the Pens the playoff series against the Isles till Vokoun came in and and won the series himself, and Fleury didn't see the net till like the 3rd Round?
I don't remember seeing any defense outside of goalies being in nets for that series. Doesn't matter how good the goalie is if his team doesn't help him.
That may be true, but Fleury didn't help himself or his team in that series at all either
That's the aberration in his track record though. The team D has consistently been a letdown since '09.
Wasn't he struggling before the playoffs last year?
I think so.
Well he's not struggling this year so I expect he'll be good.
Well you never know, gotta wait and see
There is always that. But still, it's the most reasonable expectation.
So whaddaya think 'bout the upcoming playoffs, [Lego?, Leggy?,??]?
Should be a good one (hopefully)
Chi/StL, LA/SJ or Bos/Det?
Chi, SJ and Det
Is Zetterberg gonna play?
I was really asking which series do you think will be the one to watch.
I have no idea if he is gonna play
And probably would be Det-Bos that I would watch
Also will be watching the Tampa/MTL series too
I agree with everything but SJ.
Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, the Kings still have Willie Mitchell. And I saw Quick in action during the 2012 playoff run. I think they'll be the ones to make the second round.
