    I love when the players visit the children's hospitals. We even had Canadian Mounted police come visit once.

    Kessel is awesome, he's out of shape and a role model for fat dudes everywhere. So glad the Pens traded for him. Pretty cool move to go back to Toronto. Lord knows they aren't going to see a cup in our lifetime.

    Well, I don't hate the guy. I think he's probably less of a tool than Tyler Seguin, and I say that as a Stars fan. But he just seems... I don't know.

    Losing Price for the season hurt us bad, among other things.
    Yes, the Weber/Subban deal was not a great one. I am really sad about losing Subban like that. :(

    Regular season starts Oct 13th for the Habs in Buffalo.

    First game against Leafs is Oct 29th. Mark it! ;)

    Wow. The Avs just made a great, great coaching hire. Jared Bednar was an assistant here with the South Carolina Stingrays, our local ECHL (Caps affiliate) team in Charleston, from 02-07, and took over as head coach for the two subsequent seasons. In 2009, the Rays won the Kelly Cup, which was enormous for the city, given our lack of hockey enthusiasm.

    After winning the Kelly Cup, Coach moved up to the AHL, and won the Calder Cup with Cleveland last year, equally huge for that city. Knew he would be a star when he was down here in Charleston, so cool to see those years of hard work pay off.

    Without a doubt, will be pulling for Jared and the Avs.

    Good hire, I like him too. I went to a few games last season(they have the best theme jerseys). He seems like a coach that will light some fires under the rosters butts.

    The Avs really aren't far at all from greatness either. With better coaching and some roster tweaks they'll definitely be in the mix for a playoff spot, even in the bloodbath Central.

    I hate the gimmicky teams in this tournament, but I'll be watching it anyway because it's still best-on-best. It's only the pre-tournament and the quality of the hockey in the Canada-USA game was excellent.

    Nicely done. Doc is definitely up there. With the way Matthews and Reilly are playing, there seems to light at the end of the Leafs tunnel. Cue stupid comment from Habs fan.

    The crowds for this world cup thing have been so bad. Tickets on stub hub have been front five rows for under $100. I even saw some $40's.
