Stars are looking more like the team that was expected so that's nice. Honka needs to stay in the lineup. Tomorrow will reveal a lot though since they'll actually play a good team - beating up on Detroit only says so much.

It's awesome to see this Vegas team giving their fans, especially the ones new to hockey, something to be excited about. Hope they continue to do well.

 

Leafs/Golden Knights final amirite?

 

So, I'm excited by the Leafs so far. Never mind the offence, but letting the Rangers back in on Saturday night and then taking it to them third period period along with getting behind Chicago and winning in OT shows me that this team is growing up. Last season, they gave up leads and lost their composure, it;s nice to looking forward to a season again.

Vegas is a great story considering what happened to that community. Very classy last night when they honoured the first responders.

 

What I liked about Vegas' display is that they honored not just police and firefighters, but nurses and doctors and EMTs and even a dispatcher. Usually those guys get forgotten about.

 

Even Engelland's speech was very powerful. I love hockey.

 

Hockey fandom does seem to have a more familial vibe than other sports. I may hate certain teams and fan bases but it's almost the way you fight with your siblings - they're still on a level above everyone else.

 

They look fast as hell this year so far and unlike the past few years have some grit. Hopefully it continues.

Ha, the worst part is, Babcock even called this a trap game even before puck drop. Of course Cory Schneider was outstanding.

 

Yeah Leafs to be the real deal this year. Fast, young and hungry. Games like that will happen from time to time. Even the Blackhawks in years they dominated (2010 and 2013) had games were you like "How in the heck did they lose that?". But with good teams that even itself out and you steal some guys along the way you had no business winning. I remember the Blackhawks in 2013 had their run to start the year won a game in Calgary by having Rey Emery standing on his hand and then Big Hossa was able to make a play to tie it up and they won it in OT.
