Tavares!!! Leafs just jumped to #1 in Cup rankings. Like, really. Okay, settle down a bit but holy hell. Please can they win something now, ever, please?

which is cute and all with the Leafs sheets but, also since this is a Star Wars message board, of note kid Tavares also had an N-1 Naboo Starfighter as well. So here's hoping his Leaf career turns out better than Lil Annie's Jedi Career. (Although he did equip himself okay in that N-1. Try spinning, Tavares, that's a good trick!)

 

Now there's talk of Erik Karlsson getting traded to Tampa.

As a Leafs' fan I hope this doesn't happen. With the Leafs now having elite forward depth after adding Tavares to an already stacked deck, it would be just their luck if their biggest competition in the division went out and grabbed Karlsson. Adding him to a defensive corps that includes Hedman, Stralman, Sergachev, and McDonagh would easily put them in the top echelon of teams next year. I just dunno how they get Karlsson without giving up a Point or Sergachev to begin with. Talks have cooled off the last week so maybe they aren't that keen on paying Ottawa's asking price.
