((OOC: I guess ignore this post; sorry, KS; didn't realize we were posting at the same time ))

 

OOC: Oh, we were? hope I didn't say anything that would mess up an interesting idea you may have had...

 

OOC ? Noooo! Not Kai! Wow what a twist!

"I'm ready, where are you guys and do we have any sort of plan?"

Leina listened as the siren from the hanger doors started blaring and she heard the doors open

"Mira, Were at the door just outside the hanger"

When she got there Terrow spoke up

"I guess this will have to wait, then...My specialty is stealth. If you two could provide a distraction of some kind, I could knock off several of our opponents." He shrugged. "That's not a complete plan, but it's all that's occuring to me right now."

?Well its a start, just gotta wait till those doors close ful...?

Leina stopped short. A dizzying pain shot through her mind and she braced herself against the airlock door.

* Kai?s fighter. Exploding in a mess of flames? and Denin In trouble *

?No!?Master halicon. He?s?he?s gone. And Dennis also in trouble?

She was shook back to reality at the sight of the boarding pirates through the transparisteel view port. The doors closed and the pirates, jumped out and began to mull around the area.

["Leina, Terow, Mirax. They've boarded us. I'm going to try and hold them off. Meet me at deck 2b, just above the hanger."]

?That?s Camden, Deck 2B. Lets go!?

When mira heard that Kai's fighter had exploded and he had gone down with him. Her heart sank and a lump grew in her throat.

"No, not Kai. oh Force please no"

She tried to clear her head.

"Not now the time for mourning will come."

"Leina, Terow, Mira. They've boarded us. I'm going to try and hold them off. Meet me at deck 2b, just above the hanger."

She pulled out her comlink and said

"I'm on my way Cam."

Mephet'ran nodded slightly, a smile curving on his handsome, yet somehow disturbingly corrupted face. "Of course. I will look forward to seeing you attempt to claim it, Mistress Seone."

With that, the image winked out. Mephet'ran left the room, proceeding to his personal chambers. He barely slept anymore; his own demons, mixed with those of the Sith on Korriban, attempted to destroy his mind every time he closed his eyes. For now, he would not come near the Blade. It could just as easily be seeking his destruction, as that of the light siders. He needed to see how it reacted to the presence of a true Dark Sider like Seone, not just lackies like those he had recently destroyed.

He was certain that it would destroy her, and her 'apprentice', but it would be a useful test of its powers. It would also serve as a useful lesson to his own servants, who even now were searching for it on Cargul; it would show them what would come of attempting to possess it themselves, for their own glory.

Until then, he would ponder the words of the Weird Sisters, and their strange prophecies. He knew they spoke only in half truths, and that they could just as easily prophesy his death as his ascension. If this was the time of his destruction, he would accept that, but he would not walk to it unknowingly. There were things he had to accomplish first.

As he sat in a meditative stance, reaching out across the galaxy, he suddenly felt a stab of light into his consciousness. "No," he said, quietly. A moment later, he screamed.

Halicon had been destroyed. The bloodline was lost. True, a formidable foe was now removed from his path, but Mephet'ran knew the power of spirits. He had been haunted by them for years. Halicon could still be a plague, even in death. Perhaps even moreso than before. What was more, the seeds of darkness he had planted in Halicon, one of Skywalker's prize pupils, were now lost forever, no longer to contaminate others.

"A wasted work of art," the Dark Lord of the Sith muttered, standing. He could no longer stand this silent meditation; he would find momentary peace in his training chamber.

Kes leaned back into her chair as she shut off the transponder unit.

"Kelv, set course to Cargul. We will be visiting an old friend."

"Yes Master." Kelv turned and set in the coordinates. He had recognized the man, Mephat'ran, a Sith Lord. But nothing to measure against his Master. "Master, what of the tainted blade?"

"We'll find it there, child."

 

As the A-Wing hurtled down towards the planet, Denin furiously tried to discover what had gone wrong with the engines.

"R4, what have you got?"

The droid eeped, but instead of the usual cheerful tones, it was a harsh, almost evil blatting. Words came up on Denin's screen, words that he struggled to comprehend.

Denin. You decided against coming to us. Now these matters have been taken out of your hands.

"Sithspit! The...the blade!" he cried, all the while pumping the emergency restart button, trying to get through to the Quest and whoever had taken over after Halicon's death.

He failed, and the last thing he saw before blacking out was a red shroud, expanding before his eyes, blocking out everything.

Sedryn turned his vector,

" roger Serin, on route"

Sedryn turned his craft into a steep dive, he was now at full throttle, he could fell the pressure of speed pressing against his canopy.

Denins ship was directly below him, at this moment Sedryn got another flicker from the force, he dived below Denin .Stopping his thrusters, Sedryn waited until Denin was directly above him .

Denins craft made its way closer to Sedryn's montionless craft,at the point were it seemed that Denin craft was going to fall directly into Sedryn's motionless craft .

Sedryn turned his nose downwards and blew his thrusters at the very bottom of Denin's craft. Which thrust Denin into an upright postion.

With the force Sedryn reached out and held Denins craft motionless.

Sedryn clicked his comm and said " Serin get down here i cant hold him for long".

Sedryn poured all of his energy into keeping the craft from falling anymore. He taped all the force he could muster, sweat poured of his brow.

Again for a split second he heard the voice inside his head.

" let go Sedryn, then the blade can be yours "

Sedryns concentration broke only for a moment. But then he turned his focus back and the ship remained motionless.

Sedryn was weakening, " hurry Serin, i cant hold it for long".

OOC: Do you consider this Godmodding.

 

Serin, still getting ahold of the falling A-Wing, watched as Sedryn zoomed in on Denin's ship, and did a reckless, but undoubtably heroic move of using his own thrusters to flip him upright and slow the descent. Serin suspected he had the force help him, which was good.

"Great work Sedryn!" Serin called, still focusing. And she felt it. The A-Wing had stopped falling, and was slowly moving up out of the atmosphere.

Still, Sedryn was right, they couldn't keep this up forever. It was tough, and Serin couldn't change the laws of physics. The ships couldn't take this kind kind of abuse for long before one of them would buckle under the stress, if not all three.

"Gallant Quest, where's my tractor beam?!" She commed out, and then did her best to send a telepathic message to Denin...Denin, it's Serin, we need your help! We've stopped your fall, but we aren't going to last long if you don't help us stop for ship from falling!

She only hoped everyone got the messages they were supposed to. Having a quick thought, she sent a quick message to Sedryn.
"Listen, we don't have much time. If the Quest doesn't respond, we're going to have to get Denin out of there ourselves. I have an idea how we can do it, but it's going to take perfect timing, and we need to get through to Denin! Do you trust me?"

OOC: Kissspoky, Sedryn is holding the ship up with the force. Just to let you know.

 

OOC: Some great posts from everyone. My time here is short but I'll post something regardless.

IC: At the helm of the Quest the Twi'lek apprentice Lia Falzar swore black and blue at the ship's lack of co-operation in the speeding up of the reboot. At once, a memory of Halicon's infernally positive teachings came into her thoughts.

Remember - a mind that has neither focus nor patience will cloud all that it interprets.

Breathing out, she relaxed and began to hit keystrokes into the computer terminal again with a fluid precision that was spawned by the Force.

Then, in that instant, the power came back online. A small smile escaped her lips and Lia went to the comm.

["Power's back on! I have a lock on Denin's ship and I'll haul him back in!"]

Activating the beam, she watched as the invisible clamp gripped the A-Wing and slowly began to pull it back towards the ship. Grinning to herself, Lia realised that she'd of made her master proud with her determination.

"Farewell, Halicon. You are the standard by which all I encounter shall be measured."

Though no one heard her musings, Lia felt like she'd made her peace. As she did, she wondered how the seige onboard was faring....

 

Terow arrived on deck 2B. "You have a plan?"

 

IC: (Camden) Camden turned to Terow.

"If I were Kai, I'd of had a plan, but I'm not that intuitive. All I can suggest is that I'll try and distract them in the hanger and you can sneak up on them from behind and try and take them out. Your stealth skills make you the perfect candidate."

With that, Camden pulled out his lightsaber and held it aloft. They should of waited for Leina and Mira but time was short and the boarding party was already docked. He breathed in heavily and opened the main door to the hanger....

..... to come face to face with a mottley looking crew of eight humanoid figures, wearing a mixture of military and civillian clothes, probably all stolen. There were at least two Rodians, a Gran and a Weequay, three humans and a Chiss, whom Camden could only assume was D'Spayre. Evidently, he'd not been onboard the Knives Edge but on one of the TIE Interceptors that were now docked in the hanger.

D'Spayre turned, his red eyes glinting like coals in a fire. A viscious sneer came across his face and a pair of blaster pistols appeared in his hands. He spoke no words, but his visage screamed anger at the loss of his ship.

"Kill him!" He bellowed and all the heavily armed pirates leveled weapons on Camden. Less than a instant later, they were spewing fire at the Jedi apprentice.

Camden slipped into the comfortable blanket of the Force, feeling his connection somewhat different now as opposed to the way it felt prior to his exposure to the Blade. Not weaker, or stronger, but just different. With the Blade not around, his complexion was returning to normal but his hair still remained limp and lifeless and the boy's eyes seemed dull and almost dialted much of the time.

The blue lightsaber in his hand swung, deflecting shots away from his black-robed body but there were too many even for him and he had to flip sideways to avoid a shot. As he did, he called out over his headset comm.

["Terow! They're focused on me, now's your chance to sneak up on 'em. Mira, Leina, I could use a hand here!"]

Elsewhere... on Cargul:

K4-G2 chirped a query, but there was no one around the midst of the mountain range the small droid found himself in to reply to it. Rotating its dome, it viewed nothing but trees and earth all around it. K4 had been ejected from the Knight Shadow upon its impact with the atmosphere of Cargul and had managed to reach the surface in one piece, aided by a parachute and the remains of the droid-socket's external shielding, which he'd just removed from himself.

It was around mid-morning and K4 could see the sun high in the skies. In the distance, his scanners had picked up a settlment a few kilometres away and the topographic route seemed fairly flat, which would enable him to get there. K4's concern lay in the whereabouts of his master.

Pieces of the X-Wing were strewn across the forrest and K4 felt a pang of sadness - he'd bonded with the computer on the Shadow and the small astromech felt like he'd lost a friend. That and the fact that he'd found no trace of Kai made the robot realise that he was truly alone and Kai had not survived the crash.

K4 decided it was best to get out of here. He knew that Camden would be able to sense his tracking beacon and find him eventually, but it would make more sense if the droid was somwhere in the open. As he rolled through the forrest, which was relatively open and easy to navigate, K4 noted that he'd only found bits and pieces of scattered X-Wing remains, indicating it must of fireballed not long after Kai had ejected him.

The droid let out a long mourning whistle as he rolled onwards, to where the settlement of Kiros lay, about half an hour's roll from where he currently was.

Then, in the distance, the droid heard the sound of a ship overhead. Could they of found him already?

Excited, K4 began to roll towards the sound of the engines, not realising he was travelling directly towards the vessel that was being used by the minions Mephet'ran had detac

 

OOC: Kai_Halicon, how does Kaylen fit in with the current picture?


IC as Terow: ["Terow! They're focused on me, now's your chance to sneak up on 'em. Mira, Leina, I could use a hand here!"]

["Already on it! I must have slipped past when you weren't looking."] Even as he whispered it, Terow slipped a pair of shuriken from his thigh holster as he slipped quickly behind the interlopers. The shuriken, like his other weapons, were vibroblades. Without that extra cutting power, they would only have made small cuts in their targets, and would hardly have been useful. With it, however, they were deadly. He demonstrated this with a quick snap of his wrist, taking off one arm of a Rodian, and hitting a human in the heart. He hadn't gone for the Chiss because he didn't have a proper angle, but the Chiss seemed to not be so hadicapped, as he snapped off three quick shots, nearly hitting Terow's hand.

With a quick breath of startlement, but no audible exclamation, he ducked behind a stack of crates, leaving a moment when the other intruders, who were not so fast of the mark, bewildered and looking for him, rather than at the Jedi who'd been their target previously.

["The rest of you have got an opening if you want to take it."]

 

Serin's head was racing...she was worried that the Quest wouldn't get her power back in time, and was trying to figure out how long it would take her get Denin out of the A-Wing before they both died from exposure to the vacuum of space...

When suddenly it happen, Liana's controlled voice came over the comm:
"Power's back on! I have a lock on Denin's ship and I'll haul him back in!"

As Denin's ship was finally started rising up, Serin thanked the Force for the Twi'lek girl's timing, and reminded herself to compliment the padawan when things had calmed down a bit. She would also have to make a note to speak with the other Jedi...everyone had to readjust their places in the mission.

Pulling her ship up and away, Serin signalled the leftovers of the Guardians in fighters, "Great job, everyone. Now come on, let's see if we can get back onto the Quest and help out the others."

Switching the comm signal to the Gallant Quest bridge, Serin said, "Thanks for the help, Lia. How's everyone fairing on that end...is there room in the hangar for us to return? What's happened with that boarding party?"

Jarrod took the message with a grim scowl on his face, and keyed his comm after a few minutes. "Serin, this is Jarrod. I hereby request permission to maintain status outside of the ship as escort fighter for the Gallant Quest. Furthermore, I am switching my ship's call sign. Dark Revenge, over and out."

"Serin, this is Jarrod. I hereby request permission to maintain status outside of the ship as escort fighter for the Gallant Quest. Furthermore, I am switching my ship's call sign. Dark Revenge, over and out."

Serin listened to Jarrod's signal, slightly concerned, but she told herself she had to trust him. "Roger that, Dark Revenge. I know you can keep us safe. Serin out."

 

Once Sedryn felt the tractor beam take control of Denins vessel, Sedryn breathed a heavy sigh. He heart raced and his body shook from the extreme exertion.

But still there was a fight going on and Sedryn needed to be in top condition, he let his mind float away, he dug deep in to the force to reenergise his fatiaged body.

Sedryn turned his ship into a full circle and made his way toward the open docking bay, which now lay quiet.

Sedryns Ship landed in the dock its engines groaning as they cooled down , he jumped out of the cockpit and drew his lightsaber from his side, its cool metal body feeling good against his warm skin.

None of the other pielots had landed yet nad sedryn hadent waited for clearence to land.

Sedryn made his way slowly to the bridge.

 

OOC: RBG, I don't recall you having posted as Kaylen yet so feel free to slot him in wherever you'd like - another enemy on Cargul would be cool - perhaps tracking Taiin and the Blade...?

IC: (Camden) Over his headset, he heard Terow.

["The rest of you have got an opening if you want to take it."]

From behind the crates where he was covering, he heard a Rodian screech in agony and looked to see it missing one arm. One of the human pirates lay dead, a short blade in his chest. D'Spayre was rattling fire at a stack of crates that Cam sense Terow was hiding behind.

The Jedi also sensed another force user enter the far end of the hanger and he reached out with his telepathy.

Sedryn! I could use another lightsaber over here!

With that, Camden vaulted over the top of the crates, lightsaber lit, His boots caught the Weequay pirate in the chest and slammed him into the hard floor of the hanger. The alien made a motion to grab a gun from his side, but Cam's blue lightsaber slashed him across the chest, taking life from him immediately.

Behind him, a human pirate fired a shot at him. Camden spun and raised his blade, the bolt bouncing off the beam, which Cam had angled just enough to send it flying into the throat of the baying one-armed Rodian, who fell dead to the floor.

From his left, the Gran grabbed him, tearing the lightsaber from his grasp. Cam stomped his foot down hard onto the Gran's toe, causing it to holler out in anger and pain. He turned and put all of his strength into a right uppercut that knocked the Gran back, giving him enough time to call out to his lightsaber.

The blade returned to his hand, but not before Cam had enough time to send it spinning past the Gran, hacking a sideways cut through the side of its neck that brough it into oblivion. However, the remaining two humans concentrated fire on him and despite his best efforts to block the shots, one nicked his right thigh, ripping through his cloak and bringing him down. The blue lightsaber fell from his grasp and rolled away, the blade disengaging as it hit the floor.

D'Spayre, the two humans who remained and the last Rodian all surrounded him, weapons drawn and ready for the kill....

Sedryn felt the distribence throught the force like a shot of pain to the head.

Insticts grabed him and he ran into the room were cadmen was now surrounded by four unfriendly enemys. Sedryn volted over the top of them and put his back to Cadmen's

Sedryn's turquiose lighsaber lightened the room along with Cadmens. Sedryn felt another pluse through the force and Sent a telakentic blast at the one rodian remaining, it sent him flying into the crates , his head smashing of the soft wooden cates.


One of the other humans lanched a blaster bolt at sedryn, Sedryn parryed the block harmlessly into a wooden block.

"I will give you one last chance to surrender, if not and you force me to i will hurt you"

This brought a howl of laughter from the three remaining enemy.

"Jedi, the day you kill us the day a hutt will walk a hundred meters on his own"

Sedryn smiled at this remark, as he did a volly of blaster bolts drew around him.

"focus" he said to himself


The first bolt sedryn blocked sending it yet again into the air, the second sedryn had no chioce but to put it through one of the Humans chest , he fell clutching for air.

D'Spayre came next clutching a pole in his left and his blaster in his right, the pole came first, it sherred over sedryns saber. The blaster bolt came next and sedryn spun and parried the bolt into D'Spayre hand, he stumbled back clutching his hand.

"D'Spayre leave it, go now you can be free, i bear no grudge, even thought one of your thugs killed one of the Temples greatest masters."


D'Spayre infurated ran again, sedryn twisted avoiding the shape edge of the remaining lenght of pole , sedryn tripped him and sent him flying into yet another set of wooden crates.

That left D'Spayre, unconsioces, one human standing, and a Rodian who was waking from his unconsies spell.

The rodian looked angry and charged firing numerous bolts at sedryn, sedryn blocked and parried send the bolts all saftly into walls. The Rodian was close and dived at him, sedryn fell on his back and sent another force blast into the rodian into the air, sedryn got to his feet and as the Rodian fell he got implaed sedryn's blade cutting him into.

That left two..........

 

IC: (Camden) Camden watched as Sedryn entered the fray, the young Jedi fighting with a speed and fluidity that could only come from the Force.

As Sedryn tossed D'Spayre aside and took out the Rodian, Cam focused on the human. The pirate let loose with a heavy repeater gun that Camden began to block as he ran forward, discarding his robe revealing his grey-coloured Jedi robes beneath. When he was a few metres from the gunning pirate, he flipped, the power of the Force carrying him over the top of the human thug.

Cam landed, but remained facing the opposite direction to the pirate. He switched his lightsaber to a backhand pose and stabbed behind him, the tip of his blade piercing the human's flimsy flight suit and tearing through his internal organs. He gasped once and fell to the floor lifeless.

However, Cam had not managed to focus on D'Spayre and the wiley Chiss space-pirate had recovered from Sedryn's beating. Blaster pistol in hand, he managed to move with inhuman speed and grab Cam's neck, effectively employing a choke hold and jamming his gun to the Jedi apprentice's temple.

"Drop the sword!" He hissed with rage and Camden's lightsaber deactivated and fell to the floor.

"You as well!" D'Spayre barked at Sedryn, who'd just taken out the other Rodian. Camden called out as well.

"Sedryn! Don't drop your saber! He'll kill you."

"Silence whelp!" The pirate bit back and smashed the bottom of his gun's handle into the side of Cam's head, releasing a flowing torrent of blood.

Cam's eyes went hazy and for a second all went dark. When they opened again, they were tainted with a ruby glow, far brighter than D'Spayre's own red tint. The Chiss looked at him with a sudden amount of shock, fueled mostly by the sight of the blue electrical sparks eminating from the boy's hands.

The next thing D'Spayre knew, he was being thrown across the hanger, smashing into the hull of the remaining Y-wing in the hold. Held up by twin bolts of electric fury, the Chiss howled in agongy as thousands of volts of power coursed through him as Camden intensified the energy assault.

"Whelp?! Who is the whelp now? For each action there is an apporpriate reaction, especially for those beings foolish enough to tangle with a weilder of the Dark Side of the Force!!"

D'Spayre's nose began to bleed and his body twitched like mad as Camden, his red eyes flaring with anger, continued to lash out with lightning at the pirate.

"....please.....mercy....." D'Spayre muttered.

Camden grinned.

"The Dark Side is without mercy. Only a lightsider would allow you to live.....

A lightsider.....like Kai Halicon.

Then, without warning, his eyes returned to normal. The bolts of electricity he was dispatching ceased and D'Spayre's body fell to the ground, charred and blackened. The Chiss let out a low moan before life escaped his clutches.

Cam dropped to his knees, his eyes brimmed with tears and a look of horror on his face as he regarded a shocked looking Sedryn and Terow. He'd become everything that Kai had strived to prevent him from becoming.

"What....is the Blade...doing to me....?"

A moment, later, the seige aboard the Gallant Quest was over and space was quiet and still again. However, all around the ship, and onboard the vessels that were now returning to the hanger, there was a certain sense of foreboding gloom. They'd won the battle, but at the price of Kai's life and possibly another piece of Camden's soul.

Little did this mottley group of heroes realise that more onslaught was yet to come as Lia guided the ship into a landing pattern that would take them to Cargul and face to face with the Tainted blade....

Serin watched as Sedryn flew his X-Wing into the hangar and, trusting him to be able to help out in there, took a quick flight around the outside of the ship to make sure it was clear and then flew into the hangar before Lia started her landing sequence onto Cargul. Truth be told, Serin was a little unsure of her flight capabilities to fly the A-Wing right down to the planetside.

As she pulled into the hangar, Serin saw a sight that chilled her to the bone. Camden was torturing what looked like a Chiss raider, levitating and hurling him against the remaining Y-Wing with Force lightning. And he enjoyed it. Serin had her canopy open and was out of the A-Wing before she'd even set the ship down completely, leaping to the floor and shouting, "Camden, NO!"

And suddenly, he stopped, like a droid with it's powercore removed. Serin didn't delude herself into thinking he stopped because of her call...it looked like Cam wasn't hearing anything at all. He fell to his knees and looked about ready to collapse.

Walking over to the young Jedi boy, Serin dropped to her knees as well, lifting his face to hers with a single finger. They'd never spent a great deal of time together, but even she could see that his eyes looked even more drained that they had before. "Cam? Camden, it's me, Serin. Can you hear me?"

Serin got no response...the boy appeared almost catatonic. Standing up, Serin moved over to where Sedryn stood. "You'd best get him to the infirmary. And Sedryn, you did really well today. Master Skywalker's proud, I'm sure."

And with that, Serin made to leave the hangar. She needed to think. As she reached the door, Serin had another thought, and turned back to Sedryn, "After we land, gather everyone in here. I need to speak with them."

OOC: Hope that wouldn't be considered using other peoples characters. I figure Serin has to start taking charge.

 

OOC: Kai, Kaylen's last IC post was near the bottom of page three, if you're using default settings. He was told by Mephet'ran to go to Cargul and watch the Tainted Blade. I'm wondering just how I should develop it, because I should think he'd get to Cargul about the same time or perhaps even before the heroes made it, so that would be about now. If so, how would he go about locating the Blade, etc?

 

IC: As the faithful team works hard to reel in Denin's damaged vessel, the Jedi Knight himself is in a dark stupor.

The Blade...it wants me...it wants all of us.

Denin...come down to us...take the flight stick, aim it at Sedryn, destroy his pitiful existance, and fly down to Cargul to embrace your true destiny

No! No!

Denin...you must. It is your destiny.

The trigger on Denin's flight stick begins to flash, to pulsate with a dark energy. Ignoring it, Denin closes his eyes, lets the darkness wash over him, past him.

I...I have to tell Master Halicon about this.

Relisation.

He's gone. I didn't get the chance to tell him about the Blade, and now we're all in the deepest danger...

Swimming in a sea of red hot pain, Denin is unaware of his ships flight back to the Gallant Quest

So this is what it is like to die. MAY THE FORCE CLAIM ME!

All goes black. Denin beleives he is dead. However the Force, and the Blade, still have use for him. He is simply unconcious.
