been so busy wrapping gifts, and other holiday madness, I forgot about the show. thanks for the reminder, I will look to see if its in the "free in-demand" section
It was hilarious, but I am worried what it makes us all look like. TV is going to attract the strangest of participants to televise.
My understanding is this was just the footage from NYCC. I loved the show. I was interested to see just how people would be portrayed on it, but frankly everyone on the show is pretty open about being a geek. They kind of get that out of the way and out in the open so you can actually root for them. I like that it's not trying to make fun of geeks. It's not a group of outsiders pointing cameras and going "oh look at that stupid Spider-Man costume," or anything overly degrading. The production of it reminds me a lot of MTV's "True Life" from about 10-12 years ago. It doesn't feel too produced like a Kardashian or Snooki fest.
I caught this last night on repeat and really liked it. Let the flag fly and be proud, everyone deserves love. So we're all geeks, and it brings out the fact that you've got certain 'deal breakers' for relationships with an obsessed fan of any genre. I think it portrayed them truthfully, and you had some favs that you wanted to see be happy. I caught the end of the first one and the girl (who looks like Allison Scagliotti from Warehouse 13, I was kind of jealous!!!) was walking away with the guy from the con. They held hands and you hear something like this as the credits roll: Her - "So what do you want to do now?" Him - "There's this really cool comic book store down the street..." Perfect.
Me and Amy watched the show and enjoyed it. We routed for some of the folks in it. "Glitchy" gave a good interview and ditto with Bryan's perspective. There's always someone for everyone.
I was so moved, I was in tears....okay not really but I enjoyed watching the show, telling my friends to watch the show. Just afraid that it makes us look like the guy who makes wookiee sounds
