[GEN] Problems with AOL

We are currently having trouble with AOL proxies. Some users who access the boards from them are being told that they are banned. However, we can find no record of either an individual or an IP ban in the system for those users.

This is an intermittent problem, but there is little we can do about it at this time. Please bear with us until it is resolved.

Anyone who uses AOL should be banned on general principle.

1. Switch to a non-*****y (and most likely cheaper) ISP.
2. Problem solved!

 

There's probably an IP ban for an AOL IP address lurking somewhere in the system.

 

As far as we can tell, there is no ban for the IP address that is currently affected. I even banned it, then used that as a search basis, then unbanned it to make sure.

We aren't sure what is causing it, but I thought it would be best to let people know, seeing as I just had to fill out 12 unban responses for the same issue.

It's almost certainly there somewhere. You might check with IGN and see if it's bleeding over somehow, or something along those lines.

might explain why my New addoptee pmed about getting banned. her name is Vampi Digitalwytch. Shes a sweet and innocent woman. How could you do this to her. You monsters. Shes just a noob for gods sake.
