Caught Freddy v Jason on Friday night.

All in all, a fun flick. Total camp from start to finish. Lots of worthless teenagers getting their due from the two slashers.

The premise to bring the two big bads together actually worked, and the final slugfest between them was a glorified, over the top, kick-@$$, ironcage, grudge match.

On a side note, it was equally entertaining when theater management strode in en masse halfway thru and ejected about 40 un-supervised, underage teenagers from the R-rated flick.

Needless to say, the adults in the house cheered heartily when this occurred.

For a campy, doesn't take itself seriously, slashfest, I'd give it an 8 out of 10.

Really? I can usually get in by buying tickets, no one really checks my age. I've had to sneak one or two times, though. [face_mischief] Of course, in a matter of six months I'll have no worries. :D How could they tell who was underage in the middle of the movie?

We're talkin' a buncha predominantly 10 to 13 yr. olds. It wasn't much of a challenge, even for the teenaged management at the theater.

Rented 'Solaris' this weekend. For those of us that have been programmed with slam/bang action/adventure as the staple elements of our sci-fi experiences, this movie trudges along like its mired in molasses. Some interesting performances turned in by George Clooney, Natascha McElhone and Jeremy Davies, although Davies impersonation of Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys did eventually begin to grate. I've never seen the original version released in the 70's, nor have I read the original novel on which Soderberg's screenplay was based. This would have made an ideal Star Trek episode, but not necessarily a feature-length film. Or at least, not the film that it was. There were some very nice aesthetic, artistic moments, but nothing involving the characters or their predicaments that really ever drew me in. At the end, I felt like...um...ok...who cares? Some interesting concepts, but they didn't really shine in the film. As a psychological experiment, I would imagine it really found its niche as a novel.

I agree. Solaris dragged like molasses.

Heard Johnny Depp might be the new Willy Wonka. I think he would fit. But it's hard to beat Gene Wilder.

Revolutions trailer is online now! Going to dl now!
