General Grievous - Too excessive

Uh...No!

Lucas ramps up the action in every movie.

ANH: Old man vs old machine--pretty lame fighting
ESB: Longer duel w/ more action and locations
ROTJ: Much more lightsaber action overall--the best duel of the OT

TPM: Even more lightsaber action--final duel is a revelation.
ATOC: The Yoda Duel. 2 lightsabers. Regardless of your feelings for it, it was a step up in the action.
ROTS:

I find the bashing in this thread too excessive.

 

I'm not trying to bash..but you seriously don't think he's come to the conclusionStrilo edit: spoilers removed. He could have just made the duels better.

 

but if the prequels are suppose to be watched before the OT should the action all be less then ANH and ramp up towards its battle?

 

I'd delete this and move it to 3SA, I know a kid who got banned for this sort of thing.

 

I think the chronological saga will work like this:

It starts intense, and races towards a provisional (anti-) cimax. Then it slows down, so you can catch your breath, before it works towards the real climax.

 

I have the sad feeling that those children that watch the Prequels first and then get to the Original Trilogy will get bored because they won't be over-dosed on computer generated graphics in almost every scene.

 

I don't care I get banned. George Lucas has lost his edge...now that I've expressed my opinion I can get back to my life and away from these nerds.

Strilo edit: We are nerds but you know all sorts of information about ROTS before it's release....... riiiiiiight.

 

I think Grievous is a bad idea for other reasons, and that these reasons may be symptomatic of the general approach of the PT in relation to the OT, but as others have said this may be questionable spoiler territory. I'll look forward to discussing it with you on May 23.
