Dream police, a new comic series by JMS, published by MArvel is starting it's run on June 22. This project has been in the works for some time. Jms talked about it last may when i went to see him in nothern NJ. Ams 520 came out today, and the Dr. strange mini series will be finishing up next week.

Six issues total. The fifth one is out now; the sixth should be out soonish.

Dunno if most folks know this, but JMS's Strange mini is based to a large extent on a screenplay he wrote several years ago for an aborted Dr. Strange feature film at (I believe) Columbia/Tri-Star.

Figured I'd share this- for an excercise at school I adapted a scene from Midnight Nation.

    http://www.denimfilms.com/video/midnightnation.mov

You'll need the 3ivx codec to view it. (you can find that at sites like versiontracker.com )

Visually it came out pretty good, though I ended up with a younger Laurel than I had initially hoped.

Last issue of Supreme Power is out now- with a rather explosive ending ;)

Looking forward to the continuation in the Hyperion and Nighthawk series'.

Okay, someone give me a rundown on JMS books and comics.

I've read the two trades of SUPREME POWER and enjoyed them. I hear RISING STARS is good but the art stinks, so I'm not so sure about picking it up. MIDNIGHT NATION looks interesting. I heard his run on Spider-Man is solid but not great. What comics of his do you recommend?

And is any of his prose any good?

I've really enjoyed his Spider-Man stuff, though the totem concept stuff is a bit weird, it makes for some great arcs that really push Peter to the limit.

Midnight Nation is his best comic, IMO. Definitely worth getting.

Rising Stars' art isn't that bad, though.

MAst, The third and finale tpb of supreme power is out. I highly recommend it. Rising stars is awesome. I like the art, i have no idea why some told you it is bad. JMS has wrote 10 ams tpbs. His run on ams is awesome. He also wrote a 6 issue dr. strange mini series that is available in trade. HE's currently writing fantastic four. I'm not too thrilled with it, but it's not too bad. He also did a 1 shot called dream police, it's like dragnet in the dream world. He's done 2 other trades midnight nation and delicate creatures, i haven't read either of these yet. He's also written a few novels one of them is called demon night, there is another one called other side. I own them but i haven't gotten to reading them yet.

    from jms news

It appeared on June 27th, front page of Variety. To quote the relevant
    section:

"Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have purchased J. Michael
Straczynski's thriller "The Changeling," which is being eyed by Ron
    Howard to direct.
Project, to be produced by Brian Grazer, joins the shortlist of pics
Howard is considering as his next endeavor.

Story, billed as based on actual events, is about a mother who prays
for the return of her kidnapped son. When her prayers are answered,
however, she begins to suspect the boy who comes back is not her
    child."

It is, without question, the biggest deal I've ever made, and with Ron
directing (everyone is talking about it as though he's going to do it,
though that has not been stated officially by anyone), and it moves me
from being marginally known in the film business right into the
catetory of a-list writer overnight, which parallels what happened with
Akiva Goldman. I'm thrilled that Ron is involved, because I've always
thought he had amazing story sense and he's one of the directors I most
    regard in this business.

Those involved were great in the deal making, and this stands to be a
    huge movie.

Awesome, that is pretty big. Maybe it'll give him the leverage to get some B5 rolling.

I'm glad to hear it, if it'll help his career. But I wish the director were more suited to a thriller.
