Can someone explain the Duros joke? Not to pry...

 

It's not a joke. This thread is the place for the very important, groundbreaking discussion of whether or not Thrawn is secretly a subspecies of Duros. In fact we all sorta decided that everyone in the Star Wars universe is actually a Duros. Humans are just albino Duros et cetera

 

But is Cad Bane Duros and does he contradict the EU?

 

He is Duros, and he is above and beyond such silly things as canon

 

Random question, do we think Kylo Ren is a Form I master?

He fights more like his lightsaber is a sword than anyone else.

Does that make him more wimpy or less?

 

In one of the old Marvel comic (can not remember the number sadly) one of the background aliens is a humanoid duck with multiply black eyes, do anybody know what species s/he belong to?

Hello everyone. I am pretty fresh as regard to SW novels. I've read the thrawn trilogy which was amazing.

But now I'm in the beginning of OBI-WAN by JOHN JACKSON MILLER.

Is there a thread for the novel Vector Prime by R.A Salvatore? Was the forum even around back then? I'd love to hear people's first impressions of it.

That was before my time, but as the story goes, there were death threats involved (although according to his own site, maybe this was thrown out of proportion? http://rasalvatore.com/sidemenu/interviews/delrey_interview.html). There was a general hostile attitude though -- I remember that distinctly.

He used to post here -- there was another TFA JC forum back then too, one for the authors where each had their own threads, and he'd post there and in Lit on occasion. He stopped many years ago.

 

Yeah, I was going to say, if there is an original thread for Vector Prime, that would certainly be one to get the popcorn out for a read though today.

 

So I'm reading through Shadows of the Empire right now and enjoying it tremendously. Are the Coruscant Night books a good read? They have piqued my interest. Also, how many novels about the Yuuzhan Vong are recommended reading?

 

Coruscant Nights are some of my favourite Star Wars books. I highly recommend them. The Vong books are a bit controversial but for the most part I'd say they are really good too, particularly Traitor and The Unifying Force.

 

If you go for Coruscant Nights I think you'd get greater benefit from working your way through the Reavesverse as a whole:

When was the name Palpatine first used? I was under the impression TPM was the first usage, however I'm reading Jedi Search and they call him Palpatine. For the people who were alive from the start of Star Wars: When did the name first appear?

 

I believe he is Emperor Palpatine in the ROTJ script. He was certainly known as Emperor Palpatine by us as kids in the 80's. I'm pretty sure the first ROTJ toy of him was called Palpatine on the card.

 

The original Star Wars (ANH) novelization. It begins by describing how Senator Palpatine became an Emperor.

 

I didn't know he had done that many books.

 

Reaves also wrote some of the Star Wars Ewoks episodes.
