That's great to see. I hope he is proud of everything he's done. Even if he wasn't directly involved in producing this movie, it doesn't exist without him.

He must have liked it because they continued his story of Darth Plagueis.

Glad he likes it. Cynical me wonders if part of the signing deal with Disney was to publicly endorse the film and attend the premiers. Most of me is hopeful he really likes the movie and the rest of us will as well.

It would be funny if George hated the film and doggedly attacked it online like so many extreme fans.

Didn't you know? GL has registered as a JC forum poster and hangs out on the PT boards knocking the ST anonymously every minute of his spare time in his retirement. [face_tee_hee]

LOL, that really puts to rest the anti-Lucas drivel and wild conclusion jumping from those interview snippets in this thread. I guess they couldn't read his mind after all.

He may be contractually obligated to publicly support it since snubbing the premieres would be a story in itself and detract from the films' premiere, nevertheless, I hope that he found his peace with it and (within limits), I hope that some of his vision is repected in the upcoming films.

GL liking the movie doesn't alter my opinion or anticipation of it either way but I'm glad he liked it and he's happy.

It seems that anything George Lucas says, positive or negative, is interpreted in such a way as to back up whatever opinion the person already held, with extra speculation thrown in if needed to allow people to still hold the original opinion.

It's like changing your mind is a crime here sometimes.

If Lucas says he liked it, then I'm sure he liked it...

I do hope we get a more detailed response from George. I'm truly curious about his first experience as a Star Wars audience member.

Yeah, I'd love to see video as well - sometimes you need to see the actual clip to get a proper feel.

Lucas proably, more than anyone else, knows what a SW movie needs to feel like a true SW movie. Good but not complicated story, loely characters, family story, the feeling that some random dude can become part of a larger world, part of history, and of course cutting edge visuals, outstanding music and a very concrete pacing.

And he probably found all this in TFA.

Lucas liked The Force Awakens? This will be a day long remembered... It has seen the endorsement of Lucas. It will soon see the end of the treatment drama.

Yeah... that didn't work out for the guy who made that quote in the movie, so it sounds like it's a statement that is begging for failure in reality now as well. [face_laugh]

It's nice that George like's TFA but it doesn't make up for everything that's gone on over the past two and a half years.

At least one way or another we're nearly at the end of all of this now anyway. Just a couple of weeks and we can start looking ahead to Episode VIII (which I have personally always been much more excited about than TFA)

What is it exactly that is so egregious? Some sort of imagined PT bashing?
