Actually, I'm pretty sure back when the first teaser came out and everyone was memeing the crossguard saber held by "the badass new Sith", JJ outright clarified that he is not a Sith

I wanted to say IN the movie, for clarity. We fans are looking for bit of info in interview but for those who only watched the last 6 movies? Snoke and Kylo is a basic master and apprentice relationship, there's nothing that separate it from Sidious and his apprentices. On that part, Rebels is doing a much better job, we have Ahsoka who keeps repeating she's NOT a Jedi and then when Ezra calls him a Sith, Maul is basically saying he's not on the Sith's sides, he has his own agenda but of course he's not telling him that.

 

Actually in terms of greasy and industrial the PT really has it all over the OT. What the OT was really was about was the actual lack of civilizations and technology that was seen compared to planets with living beings in cities and different civilizations.

You can't be industrial if you keep going to planets virtually barren of anyone or anything being there as seen over and again in TFA. Sand, snow and several green planets that really have next to nothing on them save for the Starkiller Base.

Lucas would have liked a mix from the start but it couldn't be done before the PT.

 

The Church of the Force was a Lucas's concept for Underworld TV series. Damn! Would have loved seeing all those ideas on TV. With this and his involvement in TCW, Sounds like Lucas wanted to do more serialized starwars stories instead of movies.

 

When and how did it turn out?
Them deciding to not use his story and start from scratch was the very reason why he left the project in the first place.

 

From what I understand, at first he agreed to be a creative consultant for the filmmakers and then he said they weren't "keen" on having him telling them what to do, that's the moment he chose to leave the process. Then we have Abrams saying they wanted to go in another direction even BEFORE he came on board. I think they could have benefited at the very least from Luca's advice about the creative side of things if not for the story.

I guess we'll just have to wait for a making of book or something.

 

I mean to have a more definite timeline of what happened and who decided what.

 

I know some forums use green, and others use red.

 

I think there was a mix from the start though. The Death Star is clean and sleek, as is Cloud City and Star Destroyer interiors. Tatooine and the Rebellion were depicted as "used," which carried over to the PT. It wouldn't make sense for Corucscant and Naboo to be dirty and put-together.

George has always been consistent in worldbuilding and design philosophy if nothing else.

 

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I really hope at SOME point this treatment is released. Sadly, I doubt it.

 

They'll probably wait until the trilogy is over, because Mystery Box.

 

What was their really to spoil?
I've already seen ANH!

Radical thinking here but why not open up a website showing what they are doing. From designs to writing ideas.

I mean I simply don't care about Spoilers, I'll be there opening night for every SW film if I can and I'll keep it a secret.

There's no need for secrecy because it didn't pay off.
Opening night was depressing and was a disappointment.
