There is a reason most people just giggled at my post and liked it. Context is your friend.

    Had to have been.

Wait! You were being sarcastic about Disney meddling in its subsidiaries' business?

Actually, I don't think he would have gone full-CGI for something like Simon Pegg's character. Just look at how they did Tion Medon in RotS. A real person in a real costume and make up, with very minor CGI to make the lips move more naturally. Actually, they used much more CGI to build Pegg's cartoony face than they did on Tion.

And honestly, for all the "practical" and "real sand" talk, TFA has the worst CGI and all-time laziest alien design in any Star Wars product: Those generic tentacle cartoons. I mean, those things look like below-average CGI from the late 90's/early 2000's. When I first saw that scene, the first thing that popped into my mind was some lame CGI alien monster from Men in Black or Godzilla 1998. Terrible.

While I agree with your overall point, you are wrong about the late 90's/early 2000's part. If compared directly to the CGI from that era they would look much better, but it isn't 1998 anymore so we have higher standards. This makes CGI that isn't up to snuff look worse than what we remember from previous years when in reality it is actually better. It is just worse relative to current CGI. Most of the CGI in TFA was great, but the CGI on Snoke, Maz, and those monsters was indeed lacking.

Another chance to take a jab at the ST....

Unless you are blind, then no, the CGI is not from the late 90's/early 2000's.

    Unless you are trolling.

More likely talking about episode X-XII, which was Lucas wanted to do at some point but then he decided to reduce it to 6 movies.

I don't like the Rathras much, but yes, very silly and very hyperbolic. Almost like there was an axe to grind before a single second of the film had been shot.

Nothing about 3, let alone 4 trilogies.

Maybe his handwriting is difficult to read.

    Episode 1 Prelude
    Episodes 2-4 Clone War Trilogy
    Episode 5 Epilogue/Prologue
    Episodes 6-8 Star Wars Trilogy
    Episode 9
    Episode 10
    Episode 11
    Episode 12 Conclusion

Episodes 9-11 could be three prequel spinoffs like we're getting now. Or they could come after what we now call the OT, but aren't one story line, like with the Kelvin Star Trek timeline. Or they could be the Sequel Trilogy. Or maybe Lucas didn't really know at the time, but thought 12 was a nice number. Why? Maybe a 24-hour SW marathon? My guess is either of the last 2.

And we are getting 12 films--a trilogy of trilogies and 3 spinoffs. That said, I think I read last year Disney wanting to make 10 new films counting TFA. So, the ST, these three spinoffs, and 4 more films.

You know what puts me off the Rathtars most? Their screams. It reminds me of the scream they put on Ben Kenobi. Cringey.

He literally took 3 minutes to write Episode One - Episode Twelve and it's basically the foundation for many of you that Lucas had 12 episodes planned at one point. Once he started making ANH, ESB, things changed pretty fast. Always in motion is the future.
