General German Speaking FF -> HOMEBASE<- die 3te...4te....5te...?

Nachdem ich endlich auch den letzten Rest meines Hustens losgeworden bin (4 Wochen... 4!!!!), geht es mir wieder gut Krank sein ist so ätzend, es macht gar keinen Spaß und dann ist man auch noch immer krank, wenn man eigentlich gar keine Zeit dazu hätte

Gestern hatte ich aber auch meine erste Stunde im ZUMBA-Kurs, das hat Spaß gemacht. Zum Glück haben da mehrere das gleiche "kleine" Koordinationsproblem von Armen und Beinen, wie ich. Es gibt noch andere, die zwischendurch in die falsche Richtung hüpfen *lach*

Und wie geht's dir so???

 

Ja, es macht einfach total viel Spaß

Ich hatte es schon einmal mit einer Freundin in einer Schnupperstunde ausprobiert, aber leider war das etwas weit ab vom Schuss. Dafür hatte ich mir Zumba für meine Wii gekauft, das macht auch Spaß. Wenn das auch so in einer richtigen Gruppe mit Trainer besser ist, dann macht man auch mehr Sonst bin ich nach spätestens 15 MInuten eh fertig, weil ich zu faul bin.

Ich finde es auch total schön, dass einen keiner korrigiert, weil im Grunde alles in Ordnung ist.

 

Well folks, I'm going to be coming to Germany on June 2nd to start the process of trying to find a way to live there. I'm going to be staying with a friend in Heidelberg who is a public school teacher who is going to do everything he can within his personal network to point me in the right direction. I'll be staying with him for two weeks and then playing it by ear from there--I should have about 7,000 Euros. As I've said before, I really don't think this is going to work out, but I just have to know that it didn't work out, you know? I can't spend my whole life wondering what could have been. It's funny, learning German was the most exhilarating and rewarding experience of my life at first, but once the wave crested, I was essentially left with this useless skill that I at first thought would be prove fruitful for me. I almost wish I had never learned it. Trying to formulate and coordinate a plan overseas using just the internet has pretty much been impossible, so I'm just gonna fly on over and give it my best shot. If it doesn't work out--which I don't think it will--I'm going to be joining the Air Force as soon as I get back in the States.

 

Mostly just looking around for job opportunities. My German emigrant friend here in California told me her friend moved to Germany with her husband and got a job at one of the Berlitz Language Schools, so that's one thing I'll look into. I also want to visit some universities and find out about their admission procedures for foreigners. I don't really have a plan or priority to visit a certain number of cities...I'm just going to go where the job search takes me. Hopefully I'll find myself in Frankfurt and Koeln at least once, since I love those cities so much. I figure within a month or so I'll have a pretty good idea whether I've got any chance or not, so that's probably how long my trip will be if it turns out to be just a trip. 7,000 Euros should be plenty for that length of time...last time I was there 6 weeks and spent about 9,000, and a ton of that was on booze since I was partying so much during the WM, and also a ton on German language DVDs and books.

And yes, I certainly could end up in Germany with the AF. In fact, one of my best friends' husband ended up doing just that and she moved there with him, making me exceedingly jealous . I actually would have joined the Air Force about three years ago, but I was barred from joining due to the anxiety medication I was taking. Thankfully I'm off those now, so there's no more barrier there.

As for myself, I run from one substitute job position to the next. Somehow there is always for for a German teacher in the Netherlands, but never a fixed contract and always on project terms. So I am NOT sure if we really can join you guys for the big SW event.

Anyway, I am just back from the Harz Mountains and found the city of Goslar stuffed with Hollywood stars. For some reason George Clooney is under the impression that the Harz Mountains are part of Belgium!?! I wonder if I really want to see "The Monument Men" after all.

Sorry, @Cem_Fel/ Shawnkyr that I could find no time to visit you while I was around for Walpurgis/ Beltane. I was traveling with my mother-in-law and my husband DarthUncle.

 

Ich habe in zwei Wochen ein Vorstellungsgespräch in der sogenannten "Randstad". Es ist eine fantastische Stelle und dass was ich ursprünglich in Deutschland vor dem Lehramtsstudium gemacht habe: KITA Bereich. Bitte Daumen drücken!

 

Ich bin staatlich geprüfte Erzieherin und war zwei Jahre Gruppenleitung, aber ich darf hier in den Niederlanden seit Jahren nicht in diesem Feld arbeiten, weil ich einen deutschen Akzent in meinem Niederländisch habe. Komisch, dass ich mal eine Polin während des Einsatzes von Schienenersatzverkehr getroffen habe, bei der ihr Akzent kein Problem war.

Oh und mein Mann & ich kommen zur Celebration Europe. Ist denn jemand von euch da?!?

Und, Ceillean, Randstad ist nicht nur eine Zeitarbeit, sondern auch der Names des Ballungszentrums aus niederländischen Städten im Nord-Westen des Landes.

 

Das wird bestimmt total cool. Freitag Abend is ja großes Screening von Return of the Jedi. Wenn das Wetter mitmacht, wird das schön.
Und je nach dem gibts dann noch ein SW Tattoo. Da kommen wohl einige bekannte Tattoo Artists aus Ammieland mit. Das wäre das einzige bei dem ich freiwillig etwas tiefer in die Tasche greifen würde. Autogramme interessieren mich nicht so wirklich. Abgesehen davon wäre ich absolute viel zu faul Stundenlang anzustehen.

 

Henna Tattoo vielleicht?

 

Ehm, ich bin nicht so der Tattoo Typ. Ich frage mal am Wochenende die Mel und noch ´ne andere Freundin aus BI.

 

Normale Studios bieten meines Wissens kein Henna an. Dann musst du wahrscheinlich zu einem gehen der darin auch spezialisiert ist. Henna ist ja wieder eine ganz andere Sache als Tattoo stechen.
Meine Tättoowiererin empfahl neulich, dass man Haarfarbe nehmen soll. Brauchst dann eben eine richtig gute Schablone, zeichnest dann an die Haut an, lässt das ne Weile trocknen und dann spülst du es ab. Das bleibt nur ein paar Tage dran. Wer sich schon mal die Haare selbst gefärbt hat, weiß wie lästig das ist wenn man Farbreste abrubbeln muss.
