BATASTROPHE '14 - Day 9: "The cost of freedom is always high..."


Today, liberation is at hand! If we want our freedom, we must be willing to pay the ultimate price for it! And, then wonder if that high of a price actually constitutes as freedom...

The "moving company" has arrived to evict the bat family out of the tenement that I have provided for them and is here to enforce my stance that they are exiled to live as bat-hobos on the streets. Mr. Bat is already fully aware of my recommendation that he ride the rails like a boxcar Willie in search of work to support his family. As many of you know, I do extensive charity work for the benefit of our city's homeless populace and I told Mr. Bat that I would offer him the same, so my hope is that I see him out there, somewhere. The removal team were up in the attic (claustrophobic, worthless-as-storage crawlspace) to place netting over the channels between our roof and walls in order to control their exodus to the promised land of anywhere but my house. When... suddenly...



A most violent incident of battery! I knew it should have been me who went up there. I'm the one with the relationship with Mr. Bat. Even if the assailant was Grampy Bat-In-Law having one of his standard bouts of batmentia, I could reason with the others to calm him down. I realize that the removal crew is not nearly as fluent in Batese as I have become, so I reasoned with them that it may not have been an attack. Knowing the Battersons as well as I do, they may have saw the netting and assumed we were installing a circus apparatus for them to perform on and so rushed to perform their family's famous old Vaudeville acrobat routine. Regardless, my insightful consideration was dismissed to their peril. The opening shots were fired and they went to war... just like the Batfields and McCoys of old.

Those 10-15 seconds were harrowing... all 10-15 seconds of it...

How will we tell the difference between that and the umbrage we already have?

 

Instead of "Disney why won't you announce something! Aaargh!!" we'll get "Disney why did you announce that! Aaargh!!".

in fact, when casting is finally announced, I'm going over to 7NSA, and pretending that JJ's still holding out on us
