It looks very promising, except that the idea of the genetically modified dinosaur could be dumb, and the apparently trained Velociraptors running alongside the bike in some sort of attack mission could be really dumb.

 

I feel you, but I am gonna let it play out. I think that the beast could either be dumb or terrifying. I hope for terrifying. As for the raptors, maybe he has a rapport with them as a caretaker? Hard to say, but it will be fun to see play out. I have to be in the theaters for that one.

 

The only thing that looked really bad to me was the CGI park entrance -- hopefully that will be cleaned up prior to release. I am looking forward to this movie.

 

Can't remember where I read it, but that entrance and the gate was made specifically for the trailer and that the film gate is practical steel, cement and wood.

Yes, my family and I will be seeing it in the theater regardless.

Seeing the park has Hammond envisioned it is rather fascinating... as will be the chaos that ensues, of course.

 

Maybe the moral of the story is "people are too stupid to learn from their past mistakes."

I may be in the minority on this one but I kind of fail to see any sort of logic besides the monetary gain behind this movie... the trailer seems to me just like the retelling of the same old thing again. I dunno, I will see it because, hell, dinosaurs... but in all honesty... I'm kind of with the whole idea to begin with and the trailer did nothing to change that :/

 

I can't believe I just thought of this... but could it be that the Velociraptors at the end are not trained at all, but instead somehow get themselves released and then are simply running away from the new genetically modified dinosaur too, just like Chris Pratt's character is on his motorcycle?

Edit: Also... the genetically modified dinosaur is not actually that bad when you think about it. The originals were mixed with frog DNA as needed. And if we can accept that they could make the originals from DNA found in preserved mosquitoes, why wouldn't they be able to combine that DNA to make something new too?

 

So, anyone else participating in movember? I was about to give up and shave but then I trimmed it into a pencil thin moustache and now it looks classy

 

My facial hair does nothing but scraggle.

 

I wanted to but work won't allow it :-(

Still so upsetting that TOR isn't Mac compatible. Would love to play, but can't justify buying a whole new PC for it. I guess I'll hold out for Battlefront on PS4 next year.
