I always wonder when a massive storm hits (such as what's going on presently in much of the U.S.), that those folks who always extol the virtues of having a real winter still feel that positively about it.

I want a climate that has a perfect balance of everything...snow in winter, pleasant weather in spring, sun in summer, and leaves in fall. Too much of ANYTHING is bad.

The local mountains should do.

I agree, I like having four seasons. That said, I'm very glad I'm not in the Northeast US right now. As usual, my weather here is very similar to anakinfansince1983 's.

Once morning rolled around, the effects were rather minimal. The city is relatively heroic in their removal efforts and it was sunny enough that most of the car clearing was already handled by nature. We drove to the diner down on Oregon and there was a water main break, but aside from that, I haven't seen too much damage, locally.

I blame myself. I should have vocalized my disdain for the practice of straining one's immune system in order to celebrate replacing a wall calendar...

I want snow...heck, even rain would do. It's unseasonably warm and dry out here...it feels like March, not January. January is supposed to be the coldest month of the year, for Pete's sake! November was colder than this.
