Darth Tunick! Finally a familiar "face" in the crowd! I've been back on the board for about an hour (after an absence of a few years, I guess), and yours is the second name I've recognized. Are all the old members dead and gone, of have they all changed their names? I noticed a thread in Comms where you can ask to change your username.

jasman: Some users have died, sadly, while others simply stopped posting/moved on to other things. Some do still post, though.

 

It's like Dragnet where some of the names have been changed to protect the not so innocent. Some of the old farts/midbies are slowly drifting back with the news of the ST and some have truely moved on in one way or another. I expect that we'll see more and more 'old folks' returning as we get closer to the big event.

 

It's one thing to be able to allow folks to have a space in their user name rather than an underscore, but I don't think being able to change a user name (while keeping everything else the same about the account) is a good policy to have.

Morning GIL, today I start the packing process for moving. It's pretty unreal how fast things are moving. I'm driving down with my wife to look at houses on the 16th. Pretty pumped to buy a house and settle down. I shouldn't have to move for a really long time now. My kid can go to the same school and make friends and keep them. Welcome back jasman!

Thanks, I am really looking forward to settling down. My job has taken me from Pittsburgh, PA to Dallas, TX then to Greeley, CO then to Salt Lake City, UT and now back to Colorado Springs, CO. This will hopefully be my last stop for quite some time. I'm tired or renting and moving every couple years. My family is too.

 

Any chance your job will take you back to Pittsburgh someday?

 

I doubt it. We have 3 theaters there now and building two more in the next year but if I want to go further into my career into busier buildings I'm making the right move now.

 

If you want a new user name, then you should have a whole new profile to go with it.
