AH! i see.
I dunno, Léon Foucault is a pretty cool guy. Eh discovers eddy currents and doesn't afraid of rotation.
... Oh wait, you mean Michel Foucault.
Only one thing really gave me the creeps/put a fright in me when I was a kid. :
The original Godzilla/Gojira still kind of freaks me out, but not for the reasons it used to. Now what mostly gets to me are the Hiroshima parallels and that just charming scene where a mother is reassuring her children that at least they'll be with daddy soon.
I remember watching Pee-Wee's Big Adventure while recovering from a sinus infection junior year of high school. My fever was around 103. Needless to say it was one of the most terrifying experiences in my life.
When I saw Pee Wee's Big Adventure as a kid, I was perfectly healthy. But it was still also one of the most terrifying experiences in my life.
I will mostly second this, since some of the more "basic" things still creep me out (some of the roars, the bugged out look on the eyes of the creature in some scenes, and the music... it's so eerie in many parts). Gojira is one of my all time favorite films.
My work place is a Petri dish. Something like 15 adults down with the flu and who knows how many kids.
If I get sick, I'm lining up A Christmas Story, Elf and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and doing the healing power of holiday comedy. If I don't get sick, I'm lining up the holiday comedy this weekend anyway.
@anakinfansince1983: Have you ever seen Bad Santa?
Nope--should I? Is that your avatar?
I tried a Ralphie avatar and decided I preferred my landscapes better than this kid grinning at Santa every time I opened the site. And Ralphie saying "Oh...fuuuuddddgggge..." wouldn't show up.
The only thing put to film that ever, ever, ever... and I mean ever... scared me when I was younger...
Yes it's my avatar, and you should definitely see it. One of the best dark comedy's you'll ever see.
ok...a little off topic but I have been wrapping my kids Christmas presents and already we have had nine light saber fights with the rolls of rapping paper....is this normal
No. You should pursue a course in electroshock therapy.
Yes. That's what rolls of wrapping paper are for.
Tunick, adding that one to the list. I'm up for a bit of dark comedy lately.
As a kid I was always terrified a member of the cobra kai was going to sweep my leg.
and ultimately put me out...of...commision.
Is that from Poltergeist?
Speaking of the original/real Karate Kid, the apartment building from that film is right on my walking route (and only 2 blocks away from my townhome) to my bus stop that I use when I go to work. :
Oh you're definitely getting your leg swept.
The clown from 'IT' used to scare me, then I realized it wasn't the clown, it was just Tim Curry. <shivers>
Speaking of Christmas lightsabers, I'm thinking of getting my daughter one of the small kind-of-like-a forceFX lightsabers. She wants red. #proudpapa
Speaking of which:
And the Skeksis seriously creeped me out to no end as a tyke:
LMAO...thought you meant a clown from I T....as in computer support.....I have seven kids they get lightsabers every year
My sons got lightsabers that flash several different colors and made fairly decent-sounding lightsaber noises.
Scary characters from childhood: Freddy Krueger was pretty damn scary when the first Nightmare on Elm Street came out. After they made about five or six of those movies, he just got ridiculous.
