Social Get In Line, NSA Edition - A Social Countdown to The Mandalorian and Grogu

To try to get more awestruck by the visual effects of The Force Awakens, I will avoid watching newer sci-fi movies with awesome visual effects, particularly space ones. That won't be hard since I don't know of any coming up. Guardians of the Galaxy looked really good but I didn't like it and fell asleep without resuming it. I don't care about seeing The Avengers and by the time Mad Max and Jurassic World come out on video, it will be almost December.

It's easy to fall asleep on anything at home, or any time after getting around to watching something after being up for some time. I fell asleep on The Empire Strikes Back about a week ago before Han found Luke on Hoth. Either way, and especially since you posed that statement, Guardians of the Galaxy was overrated tripe.

Yeah for a couple years in college I use to put on ROTJ to fall asleep, and it's my favorite SW movie. I routinely throw on one of my all time favorite TV shows, the original Twilight Zone, to fall asleep. There are certain beloved, familiar things I love to watch that have a soothing effect on me.

 

I was joking with you. Also, the a-hole thing was a line from the movie. I totally wasn't knocking you, in fact I've fallen asleep myself to movies before - I'd usually wake up a bit confused and then realize what had happened lol.

I fall asleep to ESB constantly. It's like a thing for me. And I always fall asleep pretty much instantaneously. Seriously, if I were to judge ESB solely on falling asleep to it, I would assume the whole movie consists of "Luke gets whacked in the face with an angry claw. Han and Leia fight in a hallway. The end."

I was wondering the same thing, considering I've seen you in The Hobbit thread

 

I remember a local movie critic (who was NOT a fan of ESB) implored viewers to see ANH and then ESB back to back in the theater when the Special Editions came out. I was working graveyard shift then, and since the next day I had off, I thought why not try this out? I very nearly fell asleep when Luke was levitating rocks and R2, but I was jarred awake when Yoda said "concentraaaaaaate!"

It wasn't until the wisdom of the Prophet ChewyCharmy that I imagined Yoda could have been blue before being green on Dagobah with the stick.
