    I'm a geek, loud and proud. Most people don't think I am when they first meet me (I'm surprisingly good at pretending to be well-adjusted - you know, for a while), but it normally doesn't take them long to figure it out.
    Also, I tend to wear t-shirts with Star Wars, Donkey Kong, and other geek franchise prints on them, so that might be a clue :p

    It kind of depends....I don't think I look like what people think nerds or geeks should look like and I'm often times wearing sports jerseys or actually playing sports, so people who don't know me probably wouldn't think so right off the bat. Once people get to know me though it's pretty easy to figure out.

    Not unless I wear my nerdy clothing/jewelry. Mostly they think I'm preppy or some indie hipster. In reality I am such a nerd and science is my life lol. But every one thinks I'm in architecture or politics. I don't get it!

    Is anyone else avoiding reading details about Harrison Ford's plane crash to avoid possible spoilers sneaked into the stories or comment sections?
    Indeed. Sci-fi fantasy stuff does not equate to "geekiness/nerdiness." Star Wars has always been popular mainstream stuff. In the early '80s, every EVERY kid had Star Wars something. If not action figures, curtains or glasses. I don't think newer/younger people realize that as much because there is so much out there that everything looks like it appeals to a niche audience, or because the post-Trilogy Star Wars consists of that cottage industry of books and conventions and cosplay and people complaining about canon.
