Is Kobe gonna play again?

 

Yes... but for a how long & how well is a mystery.

 

That sux. How long's it been since he was last lookin' good.

 

About 11+ months... his Achilles injury occurred last April.

 

What do you think? Will he ever be a starter on any team? Or at best a limited player?

 

I can't imagine Kobe going to another team at this point. If he's done with the Lakers, he's done. But you seem like the most knowledgable, Tunick, so correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Although Kobe has said multiple times that he wants to retire as a Laker/how much he loves the organization, I wouldn't but it past him to say join the Knicks (since Phil Jackson there) or go elsewhere* to chase & possibly get that 6th championship. He's the most crazed competitor the NBA has had since Jordan.... if Kobe can't pass him title wise, then tying him is (obviously) the next best thing.



*Who would have thought Jordan would go elsewhere, but it happened, even if many folks would wish to forget it.

 

I just hope James doesn't get six or more. Kobe was way better.

 

In many aspects of the game, yes, but to be fair James does do a better job of passing the ball.

 

Wade is very good at scoring. Easy to pass to him.

 

Among other players to pass the ball to. I am curious, though (I'm sure this stat is available somewhere, I'm just too lazy to look for it) as to the percentage of LeBron's assists have been to Wade since the fall of 2010.

 

Kobe was always more of a pure shooter. James has evolved his game into more of a complete player.

 

Yup. Unless something drastic happens within the next couple of years, it's a shame that Kobe & LeBron never faced off in a NBA Finals.

 

I think the idea that James is a better defender and passer or complete player is all hype. He's on a better team. His mates hit more shots and Riley surrounds him with defensive specialists. He makes a flashy block from behind once in awhile and on rare occasions he defends the other team's best shooter for 1 minute of the game. Hardly a complete player or best defender. Does he still not want the ball when it's late in a close game?

 

That's not really true anymore.

Grew up as a Yankees fan, but have been rooting for Detroit the past few seasons. Verlander's not making that easy today.

 

He'll be fine moving forward.
