Is it just me or does this FPS look pretty cool. Since it's on the Wii it has unique controls which enables it to feature new things like First Person Swordfighting. I think if the controls for the sword fighting are smooth Lucasarts should seriously consider making a first person Lightsaber game. Alink tot he the trailer is provided below:

Now post your opinons on the game.

I could've sworn we already had a thread on this.

Ah well, this one's probably okay.

Looks pretty great- the sword fighting in particular (love that "you are at my mercy" shot).

I think this game gives the Nintendo Wii a good shot of starting out with a bang. If the Nintendo Wii gets good third party support I think it has a chance, however remote it is, to beat the 360 and PS3 in sales because of its unique controls which look godd thus far, but we'll have to see.

With a built in speaker in the Wii remote, a SW lightsaber game would be totally awesome! Imagine hearing the hum of your lightsaber and blaster bolts deflecting coming from your controller. Cmon Lucasarts get cracking!

I'm still not sure what to think of this whole setup. I suppose i'm willing to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt (the touchscreen on the DS seems to have worked out, afterall), but...meh again they're designing a system around the idea of the Mario Party-style games. I don't like those games.

If it's half as good as Goldeneye with Wii capabilities, I'm sold.

Is it multiplayer? I mean in-home multiplayer. I don't mind online multiplayer, but it's so much more fun with the people there.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere they mentioned multiplayer (and that they didn't want to discuss online play yet since Nintendo hasn't yet revealed detail much yet on how that'll work to the public).

I heard it's splitscreen multiplayer, and the motion-sensing still works well, even with half a screen. It's supposed to have a deathmatch mode and some kind of new multiplayer mode.

I think it would be pretty cool if you get to have online sword duels.

Unlock and bump, for the Wii launch on Sunday. Gamestop already has copies in, so anyone with a pre-order can pick up a nice white box to look at for 3 days if they want to...

I want to know how many people are going to pick up their copies early. Not counting the pervs who want to commit unspeakable acts with the box/disc.

I really hope they have a good selection of difficulties levels- I think some of these sword fights would be pretty incredible with a high difficulty once you master the sword techniques- better chance of a drawn-out duel, which is what I think a lot of people are craving.

So I'm a couple levels in so far, and I'm rather enjoying it. The controlling definitely takes some getting used to, though, but i love the "focus on an area around an enemy" to increase your targetinga ccuracy, as well as the ability to zoom in and out of that rea by sliding the wiimote forward or back. Learning to effectively use that leads to some pretty solid shoot-out options.

The sword fighting has been a little dissapointing so far, but I'm hoping it's only because I've only gone through the first couple major ones, so maybe additional sword fighting options open up as I progress. Basicly, the sword doesn't really mimic your movements- you basicly make the same slashing motion on screen no matter what angle or direction you slash with the wiimote.

The nunchuck is put to good use though- using the C button plus a stick direction left or right, if timed properly, is used for dodging or slightly circling to your opponent's side, while juking the nunchuck left or right to parry enemy attacks that can set them off balance and open to a counterattack. Combined, it's some good options, I just wish the actual main sword combat was better simulated.

Maybe it's just my FPS playing style being a holdover from GoldenEye in that circle straffing comes naturally to me when the controls only involve one analog stick, but I'm not having much trouble with turning and aiming within the invisible box that seems to be giving people trouble. Ironically, the trouble those people seem to have, with them aiming towards the floor or ceiling, is the problem I have with dual-analog controlled FPS games.

Played a bunch today and finally got Scott-san to Japan. Earned the Katana-giri and getting a few new moves.

I also finally learned the focus system, which lets you slow down time and tag enemies before shooting them. It's essential for getting the yakuza bosses to side with you.

I love how I can shoot weapons out of enemies' hands and make then kneel and beg for mercy.

My roommate has this. It loosk good but he says it's really difficult, has a lot of bugs, and wasn't as good as he's hoped. He's moved on to playing the new Zelda game.

Well it is a bit buggy, but it's surprisingly deep.

I'm enjoying it, bugs and all.

So, is the game good?? IGN and GameSpot only gave it 6/10 and 5.5/10. When I first saw the trailer I was expecting it to be at least a 7.5/10 game.

I must say the focus system is really awesome, I took out nearly a whole room of bad guys with it. I love the game.
At first yes sword fighting was a little annoying and I was disappointed but after awhile it actually got fun, the easier sword-fighters are so easy to beat, my friend who is quite bad at most Video games, just starts hacking at them and doesn't stop. Me on the other hand try to do it tactically with parries and I attack their weapon more than themselves.
Does anyone know if you can do sword-fighting in multiplayer?

swords are not in multiplayer. It's guns only.

    SPOILER ALERT: ASKING FOR HELP!

Anyway, I am on the level with the psycho fun house in the packhinko parlor, Shinjuku district. I have the power back on and am back in the room with the chairlift and the ramp of death (as the exploding bunnies have forced me to name it)

Anyone know where I need to jump to get on the chairlift? I can't get on the steel bozes to the side.
