You forgot to ask a question. :p

What time do you usually go to bed?

There's no definitive answer. Bedtime differs every day/night due to an ever-changing schedule. Also, I have difficulty sleeping, so sometimes I don't get a single wink of sack time. When I do make a solid attempt, it's never before midnight.

What time do you usually get up?

Usually before seven. I find the older I get, the more of a morning person I am. I especially love being up for sunrise. Sadly, that's a little hard to do this time of year! [face_laugh]

What's your favorite time of day, for whatever reason?

Here at home in the US, that would be my hometown, Chicago, though I'm getting to quite like New York too. As far as abroad goes, I have a special soft spot for Hamburg, Germany, where I did a bunch of my dissertation research, though there are several
smaller towns there that I love too (Wolfenbüttel, Goslar, Salzwedel...).

What's your opinion of big cities vs. small towns (and sizes in between)?

How can I choose?! Neil Gaiman, Tolkien and Terry Pratchett are my top three. Is that narrowed down enough for you? I can't choose just one!

Hmmm...When you were a kid what did you want to be "when you grew up"?

I wanted to be a soldier or work in the film industry ( I spent a decade in the Army).

Many, many things. Entomologist, zoologist, marine biologist, herpetologist, Egyptologist (in sixth grade), then Disney animator, then comic book artist, then foley artist, then psychologist... Nowadays, I'll just be satisfied to finish off an Associate's, though I've considered forensic entomology.

    Same.

An astronaut... but only if I couldn't find stability as a Jedi. :)

Which era of music do you prefer; pre-2000 or post-2000?

    Pre-2000—as in, about 250–500 years before 2000! ;)

What's your position on facial hair (whether on yourself or on someone close to you, as applicable)?

It depends on my relationship with the person. On my husband...no. It looks terrible on him and I don't like the feel of it. On my sons...if they want it that's fine with me. They have my Spanish complexion so at 12 they had dark mustaches that look fairly good. I think beards look good on some men. I am not a fan of goatees or soul patches. I absolutely dislike a beard without a mustache...unless the guy is Amish. It just looks strange to me otherwise.

I think there are plenty of men out there who look just fine with facial hair of one sort or another, though the clean-shaven look is what I personally find most attractive. I like not only the smooth feel but also the element of, I guess you could say, vulnerability—the feeling that a man is showing his "real" face that way. (Yes, totally irrational, I know, but I'm just talking about what I find attractive.)

That said, if my husband (who usually shaves every day) goes one day without shaving because it's a weekend or because we're on vacation or whatever, I don't begrudge it him.

Same question, in case there are differing opinions (or if any men want to weigh in!).

Eh. I like a nice goatee and a full beard, but that strip along the jawline or a soul patch are hit or miss.

Facial hair? I prefer clean-shaven myself, with maybe a slight bit of stubble. But normally smooth.

    Light or Dark chocolate?

Mmm...massages. I should get one of those soon.

Same, plus being outside and being with those I'm closest to.

How do you like your massages?
