At the beginning of the story...



The New Republic is on a conqueing role. Getting Borleias from the Empire, getting Kuar form the Hutts and capturing Myrkyr and Dantooine from the Yuuzhan Vong as put fear into the hearts of most factions. Garindan, the admistrator of Tatooine has taken about 10 planets into his power. His greatest triumph has been Neimodia, the Trade Federation's capitol world. The Empire sent 4 TIE Squadrons and stormtroopers to Tatooine while Garindan was at Neimodia. Boba Fett, amous as a bounty hunter held them off in Slave 1 with the help of a fromer Imperial officer, Lt. Korr. Garindan, a former jedi, discovered Fett's force sensitivity and has begun to train him. In the eleven planets of the Xerton system almost very faction ahs a base on one o the eleven planets. This system, while obscure before, is now a key systemin the war.

Meanwhile A group of Pirates called the War to End War, planted a bomb in a Trade Federation ship killing the represenitive from Quermia to Nute Gunray. Nute Gunray sent out his Sith partner, Darth Maul to kill these pirates but failed. Maul was ordered to assasinate Garindan but Garindan out dueld him on Drexel II.
