Why should someone change who they are just to get people to like them?

I never said that people should change to gain the approval of others. If you mention that you are a Star Wars fan right off the bat, it instantly gives the other person a bad impression. They misconcieve you as just some obsessed loser geek. Besides, how boring is it on the first date when all you do is blabber on about Star Wars?

Don't you just love double-standards. It's okay for a girl to love Star Wars, and they can be the one to initiate that conversation on a date, but for a guy, it's a no-no! o_O

I think it would probably scare off some guys to have a girl babbling about Star Wars to him. For example, the researcher I work for caught me reading Dark Rendevous and declared me a Star Wars geek for it. Granted, he pegged me, but reading one book doesn't really make me one.

    It's hanging around TF.N all day. ;)

I messed it because I don't know about swearing rules or offensive launguage here. I know it's not swearing, but some people are kinda bossy about that kind of thing.

I'm a girl and I love Star Wars. The only problem being, when you want people to go with you to see ROTS, no-one's in the least bit interested...I think most of my friends would actually rather wash their hair [face_laugh]

most of my friends would rather wash their hair as well, philistines.

I remember some young poppet in the Q for the 20th Anniversary release made me laugh. She had been chatting away with her bloke when she turned to me and asked "did you know this was an old film?" I restrained my self and said Yes, but she said she never would have come if she had known it was a re-release ! WTF. I bet she'll be washing her hair.

That's okay, I went to the SE release with the crew of the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. There were a few women there, but I think it was only because the US Navy was in port that day... :p
