has anyone bought a martial arts gi and used that as the jedi top? plus, can you dye those tops to a tan, sand, biege or something close color?
can't afford $20 a foot for correct material, so looking for close second. in the immortal words of our gungan friend
    any help would be hot
    or something like that.

i found a gi, took it apart to find out how it was made, i used it as a pattern so i could open up the sleeves and skirt it out.

so it would look dopy if i used the gi?
also, for obi-wan's aotc outfit, is that terry cloth and if so, can you take a thin terry cloth robe and cut and fit it so it looks like his shirt? seems to be a thin line between looking good and looking goofy.

it depends i have seen poeple use gi's but modified them not to look like a gi in the front. you'll still have to make the tabbards and waistband so it doesn't look like you are wearing a gi with a robe.

I'd like to redirect this query to the Complete Jedi Costume Guide thread so we can keep all our jedi information consolidated.

I'd be delighted if you's repost your question there. :)

    Thanks!
