Amph Giving the 300 treatment to another battle or army

If you could give the 300 treatment to another battle or group of soldiers in history what would it be? Yes the movie went a bit over the top but at the same time it enlightened us to history. The brave story of a few thousand greek soldiers led by their Spartan king against a world power. But there are other battles and groups of soldiers that could use that same treatment. Help us get enlightened about world history and what it means to be brave.

Personally, I would love to see the treatment to the Sixth Roman Legion during the times of Julius Caesar. It was commissioned by Pompey and they fought against Caesar until half of them stood by and let the other half of the legion cross the river to safety. What was left of the legion fought with bravery against the forces of Caesar so that their brothers could escape. This bravery won their lives as Caesar spared them when they were surrounded and at death's door. He made a pact with them, that no matter what they would never be forced to fight their follow legion members. He kept that pact and they followed Caesar thruout the middleeast including Egypt. Caesar went up against the other part of the legion commanded by Scipio. But true to his word the legion was sent to Rome to enjoy the spoils of victory. The other part of the legion, hearing word of Caesar and what he did for their countrymen deserted Scipio and defected to Caesar.


Oh and Boudica could get a good treatment. Granted her death didn't come in a hail of arrows but in a Roman meat grinder maneuver by the legions they were fighting.

Of course everyone would state that its a cross between 300 and Return of the king.

 

actually having Hannibal as the foil and the conflict between Varro and Paulus could work out. You got the pompus varro to the cautious Paulus but by design they were forced to alternate commands which Hannibal used to his advantage. And the Roman Senate was just as bad as the Greek one in 300. It has a lot of potential. The story writes itself. Makes Boudica look like a mere rebel. This brings out the worse and the best in military history and lessons to be learned.

Oh and another more modern treatment could be the story of the Tin Cup Navy. Taffee 3 group off of the Philipines that took on the Japanese navy and succeeded in scaring them off. All with a bunch of destroyer escorts charging in no holds barred against massive battleships.

 

Not entirely sure, but the Roman Legions are copiously badass and ripe for the 300 treatment.
