Did they forget about the goaltender interference rule?

 

There was no interference on that ugly goal.


Read rule 78i from the NHL rulebook:

"In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and offensive player(s) are simultaneously attempting to play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed."


The referees and video judges made the correct call.

Can't agree with that, as there is another rule that says the goalie has to be able to move to make the save...

Just wanted to share da luv from the chapter of the Oilers fan club! As a kid who grew up as one of the "Boys of the Bus" we're all pulling for our canadian brothers down here in Cleveland!

Have to say, watching the national anthems last night: 1) love how the guy sings the 1st verse and then lets the crowd take verse 2! 2) Thanks for singing along and showin' respect for our anthem (not that we always deserve it) as well. Even JD made a point that several US cities could learn a thing or two from the example you set ((cough))Ranger Fans((cough))
