Yeah - he's only toured here 4 times in his entire life! :p

(and I've seen him on three of them - I was 6 in 1977, so missed that one)

    including a rearranged Layla.

Where's Eric: "Two iconic musicians teamed up at New York City's Rose Theater to explore the shared musical ground between New Orleans, the Delta and Chicago this week. Eric Clapton and Wynton Marsalis, joined by eight other stellar musicans performed the works of W.C. Handy, Louis Armstrong, Howlin' Wolf, Big Maceo and more. The only nod to EC's career was "Layla" - EC even admitted he didn't want it in the set. Added at the request of Carlow Henriquez (bass) and given a totally new arrangement by Marsalis, it swung like it was written for a New Orleans jazz band replete with trumpets, trombone and clarinet, rather than a four piece rock outfit. Highlights were "Joe Turner's Blues", "Careless Love," and "Kidman Blues.""

Interesting arrangement. I always like when he takes the opportunity to shake things up.

:D Does this mean there's a chance he'll dig up the much more obscure "The Core"?

Maybe he'll do a Floyd/Waters type thing and play the whole of Slowhand on it's 35th anniversary next year?

Vinyl? My hipst-- er, "audiophile" sense is tingling. Though my "Three albums for $125" sense is backing away.

    A kid-- 9 or something.

Though I think he would still refer to her as "Mum."
