McCartney is such a dweeb. Eric agrees.
Aw, because of the video title I was hoping he would say, "You're a ****ing idiot."
Happy 70th Eric.
Allman Brothers w/ Eric Clapton, Beacon Theatre 2009.
How did I know you would post about a death?
Put me in for some Clapton love - here's some blind faith
jp-30 have you seen beware of Mr baker?
Yep. He's such a hilariously grumpy old ****.
Former Cream / Clapton (and Bee gees) manager Robert Stigwood has died.
Clapton is massively overrated as a guitarist in my opinion. His success has been at creating material that has become commercially successful.
You're not an independent music video producer, by any chance?
Just out of curiosity Dobrolous, do you rank any guitarists above him?
Dear me, no! There's nothing wrong at all with Clapton's music, I enjoy some of it, and I acknowledge that he is a pretty decent guitarist.
As for guitarists I would rate more highly, are we talking living?
Ok, I shouldn't knock him so much I guess. It just gets to me when he is elevated to 'god' level when it is so so subjective.
Guitarists I enjoy listening to who I right most highly -
My most recent discovery is a country and bluegrass prodigy called Trey Hensley. He plays electric like Stevie Ray Vaughn or steroids and acoustic like the devil.
Other honourable mentions...Tommy Emmanuel, Hendrix, Chet Atkins...
Clapton does JJ Cale, again. Nice he found his wah-wah pedal I guess.
Not really a huge Clapton fan outside of Cream, but there have been some gems here and there that have kept me having a casual appreciation of his music.
This is one of them:
Of all the CD's I ever bought, Clapton's Unplugged was always the one I liked the best.
This is a better new track.
US residents, go in the draw to win a Signature Strat.
Clapton's solo records were always hit or miss for me. But Unplugged was one of the better ones that, ironically, was acoustic. Not a Stratocaster in sight.
Inglewood, March 2017. Darth Guy
We'll see if I can get tickets, I guess.
A few songs are about to be live streamed from Eric Clapton's LA concert.
