    C'mon L.A. (not that I'd be able to get tickets)! But chances are it would be Japan or Australia, since I've heard Bruce express regret that Cream never performed in those countries. Hopefully he's not just talking out of his ass and hopefully he didn't speak too soon and ruin the chances of another reunion.

    I wonder which song would be added to the set. [face_thinking]

    This is a beautiful interview with Eric & his lovely Gibson back in the Cream days.

    Pity that all I can think of is Nigel Tufnel while watching. ;)

    The full clip is here. No more Clapton than what you've already heard, but he also does (less impressive) impressions of Dave Matthews & Shawn Mullins.

    And here's a great live version of Change The World song by Eric and band a couple of yers back. Looks like Nathan East, Billy Preston & Andy Fairweather-Low.

    It's from the 2001 One More Car, One More Rider DVD. There was a great video of him (with an electric guitar) and Babyface performing it, but the video seems to have been taken down.

    Meh, it's only worthwhile for the live versions of a couple Pilgrim songs (and "Change the World"). The rest of the songs are either forgettable or better versions exist on other DVDs.

    Yeah, the tracklisting seemed to contain 95% stuff I've already got on other DVDs so that's why I never bothered in the past.

    This was just posted on www.rollingstone.com:

    [image=http://i.realone.com/assets/rn/img/9/4/8/4/15564849-15564852-slarge.jpg]

    According to an industry insider, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck are going to tour as The Yardbirds this fall alongside founding bassist Chris Dreja and drummer Jim McCarty. The tour is said to kick off this October. It?s unclear who will be the reformed Yardbirds? lead singer (original vocalist Keith Relf died of electrocution in 1976). Eric Clapton, the Yardbirds? founding guitarist, has no plans to participate, according to the source.

    Page and Beck?s tenure in the Yardbirds overlapped by only a few months in 1966, but they have remained close friends since. The British blues legends disbanded in July of 1968, although Dreja and McCarty have been touring steadily under the Yardbirds name since the 1990s, and are currently on the road through August. The band reunited for one night in 1992 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

    Looks like I was right with my o_O;

    Yes, Crossroads Festival on this weekend (I hope Jeff Beck rechecks his dates!). Anyone know if its being webcast?

    The 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival will be held at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois on July 28, 2007. Tickets sold out for the 28,000 capacity park in around 22 minutes.

    Confirmed Artists

    * Jeff Beck
    * Doyle Bramhall II
    * Eric Clapton
    * Robert Cray
    * Sheryl Crow
    * Vince Gill
    * Buddy Guy
    * BB King
    * Alison Krauss and Union Station
    * Sonny Landreth
    * Albert Lee
    * Robbie Robertson
    * Los Lobos
    * John Mayer
    * John McLaughlin
    * Willie Nelson
    * Robert Randolph
    * Hubert Sumlin
    * The Derek Trucks Band
    * Susan Tedeschi
    * Jimmie Vaughan
    * Johnny Winter
    * Steve Winwood
    * Bill Murray (announcer)

    There's a chance the aforementioned one-off Cream reunion may happen (unannounced) at the festival too. Would also mean Baker could play with Clapton & Winwood.

    Anyone aware of a webcast? There was one for the 2004 Crossroads Festival, apparently.

    Sonny Landreth. [face_love]

    South of I-10 was the first record I bought. Years ago, too, I whiled away hours surveying the cyberspace around which I newly orbited to find the man's words via interviews. I downloaded resounding--yes, albeit acoustic--versions of "Native Stepson" and "Broken Hearted Road", offered at his official site, an unremembered months ago. (The files are still available; I checked for you.)

    Were his respect for Landreth the only good I associated with Clapton, I would smile his way for that fact alone.

    A webcast would be nice, indeed.

    Edit: Ouch! (I hadn't thought to query Sonny until I responded to this thread. Thanks, jp.)

    Well, after watching the wonderful 2004 Crossroads Festival DVD, I discovered a bunch of awesome guitarists I'd not have given a second thought to otherwise. Don't dismiss the other guys there offhand!

    I went to the 2004 Crossroads festival which was awesome...there was sooo much that didn't make the DVD's.
    The display of EC's guitars alone was worth the price of admission (not to mention some of the other artists guitars that were on display).

    Is this year's festival going to be webcast?
