Hopkins is in it; maybe we'll get to hear my favorite series of battle-cries:

    Odin - For Asgard!
    Thor - For Midgard!
    Loki - For myself!

Glad to see Waititi's style seems to shine through here. I may not have gotten a 100% Edgar Wright film, but hey full James Gunn (x2!) and Taika Waititi films almost make up for that. :p

Thor didn't choose Skux Life, Skux Life chose him.

I like Marvel movies, but I have never read the comics and I don't know much about Norse mythology. Why does the Grandmaster look like the Collector? I know they are both "Elders of the Universe," but I don't see why they need to look like twins. Also, why is Loki casually sitting by the Grandmaster watching Thor fight Hulk? Does he have nothing better to do? Lastly, is Thor's hammer really broken or is it going to end up like Captain America's shield from Age of Ultron?

We'll find out when you do! Or maybe in the next trailer, when Marvel gives away the rest of the plot!

Well, I believe mjolnir is really broken, which is one of the many epic moments in the Ragnarok trailer. However, it would appear that Odinson retains the power of Thor without the mighty hammer.

Thor's power doesn't come from the hammer. He was stripped of his natural strength by Odin, and it was deposited in the hammer, as I understand it.

In the myths and the comics Thor's strength has always come from his heritage: Odin and a giantess in the myths, Odin and Gaea in the comics, both of which account for him being so much stronger than your 'average' Asgardian.

Right. The physical strength was always natural, but the magic abilities like opening portals and summoning the lightning comes from Mjolnir. Making him mortal in the first was a nod to the body sharing with Donald Blake, Eric Masterson and Jake Olson, where he had no power whatsoever. Only not having him body share at all.

So I'm guessing Thanos is almost certainly behind the attack on Asgard and is after the Tesseract?

Not necessarily. This could so easily be the masterplan of Stilt-Man.

Well, like all good stories, it's about a girl and love.

    SPECULATION based on comic
    [IMG]

Many speculate that Hela will be the MCU's iteration of character, Death, which Thanos loves with all his heart.

I have to admit, I really liked the trailer. Putting Zeppelin in there was just a damn good move.

Yep still watching several times daily. And still laughing at that punch line, or is that the line before the punch? :D

I think I am so verily delighted because this feels like a bonkers old school Thor comic to me and if the entire film plays out that way cool.

Although what's with Heimdall and Thor trading hairdos? :p

Well, not everyone like the Ragnarok trailer. Here are cute reactions by Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince. I like Bruce's comment on the very end.

Ok. Only one thing has been bugging me about the trailer.

After Valkyrie says "A contender...," and it goes back to Thor in the chair.
What are those white shaggy things to either side of him.

Are those curtains? A creature's arms? Why are they moving?

Uhhhh, it just nags at me.

I thought it quite good, but Hela crushing Mjolnir was a bit too much for me. Is there any kind of basis for that in the comics?

The hammer has been broken a few times in the comics over the years.
