I didn't see myself as having a choice, Ender - someone had to stay. Besides, I'd already given enough people my address, it didn't seem like a huge deal to give it to someone else. It was only after that, when I saw how the ones not giving out their details were being treated, that I started to reconsider.

 

Shara, if you look at my last post on the previous page, you'll see that three mods have ben re-instated

 

Will update that now - haven't been online a huge amount since that happened.

E_S, back the **** off. It's not her fault someone has to take care of things because Philip decided to screw things up. Very few of the remaining mods are staying by choice - if there was someone to replace them, they'd go. Frankly I'm the more selfish one for refusing to stay because of moral issues, those mods who remain care more about the forums than I. We clear?

 

OK, i dont think anyone should be FORCED to do anything like give up personal details, so Im with u in that.

But why is this happening at all? whats he gopignt o do with them all? Ive heard talk about him having other people who can be sued along with him by Lucas, but this forum has ben here for years. Whats changed?

That cant be it, there has to be a reason for it.

 

Philip's said that it isn't for a lawsuit unless a mod is directly responsible for something. That can be interpreted as him putting responsibility onto the mods for not editing out something that an overprotective parent might sue the site for, but that's kind of an extreme case (any lawyer can expand on this ).

 

Is that the intention for the call of the private information? I read his statement and from what I could see, he didn't give a proper reason to why he is doing all this. From what I've seen he rarely posts in the public forums. People have their right for their privacy and he should respect that instead of punishing them for what they are doing is the right thing.

I don't claim to have followed every nuance of this mess. In fact, I haven't been here in a week or so and this is the first I've heard of it. But I think it's unreasonable to demand people to disclose personal information of that nature online when they don't want to. Count me in.

Knightwriter quit because he was passed over for the Head Administrator position at the JC, both Dark Lady Mara and jp-30 were planning to quit anyway. All 3 used this rubbish to score themselves some unwarranted sympathy and good will.
