What crazy habits do you have?

A lot of people have to have the TV volume on an even number or a multiple of five. I'm the opposite. It absolutely cannot be either of those. 13, 17, 19, 21 fine. 20? 22? No!

I also think I'm living in a Truman Show environment. There are cameras watching me at all times, out in public, at work, at home. Always.

I always think out loud "Yes I know you can read my mind." That way if someone actually was reading my mind, he or she won't know whether the info they've gathered is legit or not.

 

I like counting the number of letters of random sentences I hear. I've been doing this since I was a kid and I got scarily good at it.

 

Sometimes I just don't eat or shower for awhile.

I also think out loud.... all the time--I don't really care who's around when it happens, these days, but it used to embarrass me when people heard it, when I was younger.

 

One for males only possibly. But when urinating, I often like to flush before I'm finished, to try and win "the race"

Speaking of, when over taking other cars, I find a gripping commentary in my head is quite enjoyable. "And he's coming up on the Nissan, but the Nissan is far too powerful...oh, he's going for it! This is almost unprecedented! He's doing it, he's doing it!

...and he's done it! Paul has taken the lead, in dramatic fashion!"

Can you imagine me as James Hunt then? Calling someone a bloody idiot?

 

I often hear dramatic voice-overs in my head. I turn a corner, and hear: And that was the last time he was seen alive. It's Robert Stack's voice maybe, from Unsolved Mysteries.

 

I tend to have this habit of repeat things that I say two or three times. It's a lot better than it was when I was younger, but it tends to come out sometimes, particularly when I'm nervous or stressed.

 

I read signs out loud to myself when driving.

I check that the stove is off 3 times before bed. ANY LESS AND IT COULD TURN ITSELF ON.

 

Do you check the four top burners and the oven?

 

If they can truly read your mind, wouldn't they be able to tell the sincerity of your thoughts in the same way that you can?

 

I only have 2 top burners, no oven. Thankfully. But yes both each.

 

I have a purple Christmas tree I keep up all year long.

 

You guys are all a bunch of OCD weirdos or just plain freaks.

 

I argue with people on a Star Wars message board about Jesus and guns and straw men and stuff.

i don't think i do any weird stuff..

i mean, i pretend like i'm on a tv show and talk myself through it, when i'm cooking, but thats just to pass time. it gets kinda silly when all i do is turn on the oven and throw in a frozen pizza tho.

oh an i've been addicted to touching dog snouts since i got my first dog at three. they're just so cold and weird. i dunno. i do it all day. dogs hate me for it.

 

I must have a fan on for noise to sleep at night but this is only needed in my own home/bed.

 

i smell my hand when i'm concentrating.

 

My right shoulder pops every time I shrug. I feel tension if I don't do it at least twenty times an hour. I try not to do it in public, but...
