About Goldeneye, it's weird. Nintindo owns the code for it, but now EA owns the license. I'm not sure where Rare falls in the loop now.

Looking back, these were the hay day of the consoles. I personally think the consoles have all gone down hill in terms of shooters and action games. Game cube lags far behind the competition, there are too many WWII shooters, too many Vietnam Shooters, these are just some of the problems. It needs to return back to the old days. Where games were easy to play. Anyone could pick up a controller, learn the controls and have fun. Now those days seem to be gone.

DroidGeneral...you Said that Very well. I've been trying to figure out a way to describe my disgust with the lack of "Fun" that exist in today's games, and You hit the Nail right on the head with that one...

I know you guys are gonna kill me for this one...but i have to do it For N64:

    #1WCW vs. NWO

and the rest were pretty generic...

    Starfox 64
    Turok 1
    Mario Kart 64

The SNES was the heyday of consoles.
ALTTP, Super Mario World, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, now those were the days.

Indeed. I hardly ever play through games after I've beaten them, but I went through BK 100% 3 times just because it was so fun.

    Easily my favorite N64 game...ever.

Honorable mentions (off the top of my head/what I've been reminded of by reading this thread):

    Mario 64
    Paper Mario
    Starfox 64
    The two Zelda games
    Banjo Kazooie 2
    Donkey Kong 64
    Conker's BFD
    Jet Force Gemini
    Goldeneye
    Perfect Dark
    Shadows of the Empire
    Rogue Squadron
    WWF No Mercy
    Super Smash Bros.
Mario Golf & Mario Tennis (both better than the GC versions)
Mario Kart 64 (see above x10)
    Diddy Kong Racing
    Wave Race 64
    F-Zero X
    Excitebike 64
    Episode I Racer
Even the first Mario Party was pretty good (although it had that one fishing game where you had to spin the control stick to reel in your fish, which would not only kill everyone's hands, but their controllers as well)
...and there's probably a handful that I'm forgetting.

I also have to agree with DroidGeneral and Drakhaon:

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the current generation of games (WWII/MP shooters, GTAs etc.) but I can honestly say that the N64 provided the most fun that I've had with any console.

WWF Warzone provided hours and hours of entertainment for me and my college buddies at the time. It was the first time that we could actually create characters and customize facial features, body style, clothes, etc... We used to make wrestlers based on our professors (we had some very *unique* profs at our college), then make 'em take each other on in the steel cage.

There's nothing better than making one of your profs hit another one over the head with a TV or a trashcan. Man, I need to dig out my old N64 and dust off this game!

wcw/nwo revenge was awesome... i personally felt that the wwf game AKI did for the N64 ruled though, more than any wrestling game ever

    In no particular order...

OOT - Everything that needs to be said about this has been said a hundred times before.

Goldeneye - Wild. My friends and I used to get together... and end up playing this for hours.

Rogue Squadron - Still play it occasionally. The controls are a little nuts but it has a life in it that all the later games lacked.

Super Mario 64 - Probably the first game I ever beat?

Shadows of the Empire - Not a great game by any standards, but the nostalgia is overwhelming.

Jet Force Gemini - For kicking me into next week. I still haven't mustered the courage to beat it.

Tied for first: Perfect Dark and Shadows of the Empire (the seeker missiles were so cool)
    Goldeneye
    Mario 64
    Episode 1 Racer
    Gauntlet

I remember staying up til all hours of the night playing Perfect Dark Co-op. That was such a cool new concept to me, being able to play together.

    lol, Quest....

I think what he meant was it was like the first real "party" kind of console. Where you and your 3 other friends (yes I said that right :p) could play together.

Personally, I've beaten Turtles II and Turtle in Time with 4 people more than 2. YAY for arcade...

    mmmm... X-men Arcade....

My memories of going to the arcade are a little hazy, but I remember liking the Captain America & the Avengers game more than X-Men (and being the only one who did), although the giant Double-Screened Mega Ultra X-Men cabinet was awesome.
