This is a thread of great anticipation and monolithic optimism.

Brought to you by the letter "P" and the number "4"

So basically this is just a parody thread, I'm guessing?

Well, if Australian can win a gold simply by not falling on his arse I'm sure that eventually a Kiwi will win a gold when the rest of the competitors take ill with a sudden outbreak of Ebola or something ;)

Ha! The Poms won gold this morning. Their first since 1984. So there is still hope for the Kiwis yet.

I remember the first gold you won in Sydney was in the rowing. You know, the sport where you sit down and go backwards. Who'd have thought the kiwis would win at doing that?

I was thinking the other day. I'm pretty youthful, I like sport and I like my country so why not attempt a sport where I can one day represent my country and be best hopefully in the world.
I came to the conclusion I should take up lawn bowls. I'm guessing if I take it up now I have a good 50 years playing ahead of me. Being youthful I can learn the game and skills, and with time on my side there is a good opportunity to gain valuable experience.
I'm thinking I should be able to start representing my country at the next Olympics and maybe by 2008 I'll be hauling in the Gold.
