I think we could do a meet in Manchester (since the Mancs have been to us recently) - go to the fair, do something else, have a meal and then head home?

This sounds like something I might be interested in. I like Manchester as it's quite close but I don't get many excuses to go there.

I live in Chesterfield in Derbyshire, so it's quite a way, but only 45 minutes on the train.

Nah, we will do other things - more than just the Comic Fair

We should do a trip out to Derbyshire sometime.

However, I raise your 45 mins on a train, and place my 1 hour 10 mins Southport to Manchester on the table, maybe we have slower trains up my way (or it is imitating the lovely old folks who over-populate my fair resort/retirement home town)

whereever it is really as people completely failed at giving me a much needed english map for any of the gift-giving occasions.

 

I don't know ... Derbyshire sucks! Although we do have that peak district thing. It's just all trees and stuff mainly, though. I don't mind making a trip to Manchester for a comic fair, considering it's only £14 for a return.

And Tim, perhaps the time on your train is greater due to a greater distance between the places?

Though it's a few weeks away, when would everyone what to meet up for the fair. Do we do both dates or just one day?

 

Depends on how many are going to attend.

Best if we post which ones we can do (there was going to be a FF-UK Scotland meet on same weekend, but I think I'll go to their next one, save some money for that) ...

As far as I know at the moment I could do both but I'm happy just to do Manchester if I can.

manchester is better for me, i'd really like to save some money for the february break and easter and things.

 

I can do the Manchester one. Jan 20th? It's the day after my last exam! And also ... the first weekend Rocky VI is out!
