Do you have any plans for the weekend?

There's an international beer festival here this weekend (drool).

 

Not much, just a lot of housework. Juliette (friend from Uni) invited me to Amsterdam, but I keep telling everyone I can't leave on such a short notice if no one is going to take care of the bloody animals. (I even dream of me saying that now).

But a beer festival? That sounds classy. Actually, it sounds like fun. What is it? Will you be going?

 

Me miss the International Beer Festival? Inconceivable!



It's basically where they get lots and lots of different types of beer from all over the world and you go and drink as many pints from as many different brewers as you can. It's a great place to try new stuff.

I discovered honey beer last year. Beautiful stuff!

 

Oh hell, we never have that here. I have to discover everything myself, or hear some things from other people if I'm lucky.

Honey beer sounds nice. Hope you've got a strong bladder, though.

Just checking in for today! I wanted to post my utter contempt for bridal gift registry as well. I went to buy something nice for friends getting married next week and the whole list of what they wanted was napkins and placemats and bath towels! I mean, smeg! I don't feel like it's a gift at all - merely a way for them to fill their house with more useless crap!

Who needs a $400 cutlery set?! Honestly!

So now I'm giving them something which I would never in my whole life have picked for them, but if it's what they want who am I to argue?

 

Oh yeah, tell me about it, Kerryn. A friend of mine married last year, and he gave us all a bit of paper with what to buy: "You buy that, they buy this..."

Crazy! It was completely fake. I felt embarrassed.
