Good News For The Fans Of R5-D4

R5 has always been cool. I always liked his "voice" best - kind of malfunctioning beeps. I wonder if he'll have any lines in AOTC?

 

"Malfunctioning bleeps" -- exactly. He sounded depressed.

But indeed, what are his lines in AOTC? Where are those so-called spies now, eh? Captured by Lucasian Forces?

Anyway. Knowing George, R5-D4 probably will say something like:

"Oh no. I hope my motivator will never fail me. That would make me feel really depressed."

Pronounce as: "Bleep Bleepa Too Weeeert", or whatever they did in those old Marvel Comics.

 

He only pretended to have a bad motivator. WHY would be want to spent time with Threepio ?!? Gahd!

 

Yes, that's what I said on Page 1 -- he faked it. He's smarter, deeper, than you think.

R5-D4, wisely, opted not to go on a journey with Threepio and Luke, but decided to let R2 do the job instead.

And the rest, as you know, is history.

 

But how can R5-D4 replace Ric?

 

Simple: let him state the obvious and put him in a pilot's seat.

 

Well, Ric will be on this ship and the shield gets damaged. The astromechs are sent out to repair the shield, but in reality only R5 D4 can fix it. However he fakes a bad motivator so he doesn't have to risk going outside and instead escapes from the doomed ship in an escape capsule.

Ric is then killed as he is flying a ship with no shields and with no astromech to repair it. Thus Ric is eliminated from the SW timeline and replaced.

Simple really.

But, what can R5-D4 SAY?

 

I don't know -- but this just in:

"Hi Friends of R5-D4! It has been a while, but you can see more of me in the upcoming 20th Century (tm) film Attack Of The Clones (tm). Hopefully, we'll see each other then! I gotta stop now 'cause my motivator is making strange sounds. Love, bleep, R5-D4 (tm)."

 

So, R5-D4 is one Obi's ship? Why does he look so different?

 

Wasn't it at Watto's shop that we'd see everyone's second-favourite atromech droid in AOTC?

I believe that that's what the spy reports stated.

 

That's true. But what droid in on Obi's ship, then?

 

I don't know. Frankfully, I haven't noticed a droid in there at all. Was there one?

By the way, what happened to R2's legs when he sat in the Naboo Fighter that Anakin controlled in TPM? -- Oh for chrissakes, never mind, who cares about that anyway.

Yes -- but how could R5-D4 have functioned with a bad motivator for, what is it, 20 years? I'd say it wasn't that bad if it lasted that long.

No, it must have been some Super Droid Engine that Watto gave R5-D4 -- because he recognized R5-D4's greatness.

 

Oh man. I can't believe a thread about some droid who got 5 seconds screen-time in all of SW is doing better than my R2 thread.

Yeah, like in alot of other ships, the Jedi Fighter has a droid and it is red and white.

 

I'm working hard on it, Lobot -- I'm plugging him like mad.

R2 is the illegitimate son of R5-D4 and Obi's droid.
