Thank you all for your support! I'm really happy and it's something I've worked really hard to achieve. I'm now considered a "street design expert" for the City of Los Angeles. It's a big responsibility, but don't call me about potholes and traffic congestion, because that's not what I do.

OH! Thanks for the reminder. I'll ask Sheila (my friend who lives in NY) if she can think of any other cool places of interest.

Definitely try TKTS on the northern corner of Herald Square for discount Broadway tickets.

I don't think I'll be able to do a broadway show. I was told it would be like from the Nov. 2 (thurs) thru the following saturday. I wish I could be there on Sunday the 19th of November when Nintendo starts selling the Wii(next gen system). The president of Nintendo of America will be there handing out some of the first Wii's to be sold that day at the Nintendo Store=P~

Ask your friend if she wouldn't mind showing me around. I know she's a total stranger, but from the stories I've heard, it's a concrete jungle in NYC. Even though our NY office is outside NYC. Hopefully I'll know by next week. I really can't wait.

This actually happened yesterday but still relevant. I received six dvds from the Home Entertainment department for helping them with some things: The Davinci Code, Talladega Nights, RV, and two documentaries. I'm sure we will be getting at least two of those as our holiday gifts but I can then pass them off to gifts to my family.

I also was taken out for lunch yesterday for some other work I did. We went to Paco's Tacos. It was good but I tried not to eat too much as I need to still look good for Hawaii.

For the past week, I took my day job off because I have sick time to use. I'll be using my last week of vacation on the last week of December to help with the floats. I still have to go to school and work my night job though. At least I get to sleep in.

Sounds like you've been busy SJ with two jobs and school. That seems pretty hard to do.

Today some company was in the office to film a couple of co-workers. We recently had a pretty big sewer failure and so this company shows others procedures other companies have used to fix various infrastructure related problems. I also found out (at the office) that my Steelers won last night! Yeah! I don't have the NFL Network so I could not watch the game.

Oh, and when JR came down to see my book, he noticed that our group's Christmas tree has Star Wars ornaments hanging on the boughs (as all good Christmas trees should).

Shoulda mentioned that our whole office went to Catalina last Friday for lunch as our anniversary party (which should have taken place in October, but that's another story). Haven't been there in a very long time. It was a lot of fun. This time of year is the best time to be there, because the place is practically deserted.

Yesterday my boss took us all out to lunch to celebrate Christmas. We went to the Todai in Studio City. It was nice. The bad thing was that our division engineer was looking for us during our absence. We got in a little trouble but it was resolved quickly (at least I hope it was).

Oh, and I left early today to pick up my padawan from finals. I leave early again tomorrow.

A new NBC series called Raines filmed at KCET today. I thought it was a bit odd when our administration building said "Los Angeles County Morgue" on it and we had ambulances and hospital signs! Jeff Goldblum and Laurie Metcalf were here all day.
When I tried to get a picture next to the sign, one of the production guys insisted on wheeling a 'body' over too.

So, double post, but new topic:

I went to my first company party today. My boss said the usual attendance was between 3 to 5....thousand. Here, I'll repost what I put on my other site:

Well... I left early -- because I'm old! Seriously, it was like being in the largest nightclub I've ever seen in my life -- like the size of half a football field. Wall-to-wall people, tons of food, I lost count of how many bars offering free drinks, a DJ and a band (it was that big), a bunch of lounges, and a sports bar area with tons of big TVs showing games. Oh yes, and the casino! I was given $400 of fake money to play with (you could get real prizes though) but I don't know how to play roulette, craps, blackjack or any of those games! They had about 40 foosball tables and 10 air-hockey tables! All this inside a ginormous tent-thing on the lot. I keep trying to remember it and thinking I'm telling tales, but really it was. so. big.

Anyway, because I'm old (and even though we had free taxi service) I decided it was wise to not get tanked -- plus it was really hot and noisy -- so I came home early! All in all, though, it was quite impressive.

When we got home, I gave a homeless lady who needed one a blanket out of the car. NOW I feel like it's Christmas!

Edit: I forgot to mention the three gigantic waterfalls. Inside. With images projected onto them. Oy -- big companies sure throw big parties! Oh...I saw SR briefly...but lost him in the CROWD. Yeah. Did I use the word big yet?

JB isn't kidding. It was big. I'm glad you mentioned the waterfalls with the projections. Very nice. I lost JB when they played Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake. I had to make an appearance on the dance floor. I do love to dance and with a few drinks in me watch out. The food was soooooo good. Wolfgang did a great job once again. I also liked the foos ball tables and the air hockey eventhough the lines were a bit long to play.

I had about five beers before calling it a night around 9pm. I didn't win the raffle this time but some lucky person won a trip to Singapore and someone to Austrailia. Working for a big company is nice.
