If you would have said PSone then I would say FFA, FFT, FFC, FFO, FF6, 7, 8, and 9. But sense you don't. For the PS2 there is Kingdom Hearts, and FF10 :)

My good man, have you forgotten that the PS2 is backwards compatible?

And anyway, anidanami124, I said I was already planning on playing the entire FF series, so don't bother mentioning them. (Heck, I'm on disc 2 of VII now.)

Yeah I kind of did. I have the PS2 but all my good RPG games are on the PSone. In other words I don't have many RPG games for the PS2 :(

I do need to ask one mroe thing:

are there and good PC RPG Games that are not online games?

Final Fantasy III, in my opinion, is the best RPG on SNES and the best Final Fantasy game.

    WOOT! 1,000th post.

My favorite non-online PC RPGs are the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series.

I prefer to use the Japanese numbers for FF games...since I've played all the first six.

Why would you think a Rocket Propelled Grenade would be fun?

If you get Baldur's Gate, play it in the right order: BGI and TOSC, BGII and then ToB.

Don't play BGII just by itself. It will be a million times more fun by playing both.

If you've got the patience to play an immensely large and indepth game, Ogre Battle is the way to go. This SNES classic is phenomenal, and has 16 different endings based on how you played the game. Its really rare though, so I reccommend you get an emulator and play it through the ROM.

As to the person who said Mario RPG is the one who got them into playing RPGS.... me too! That game rocks!

And yeah, don't forget you can buy any of the PSX games and play them on PS2. The ones I reccommend any of the FF games (particularly tactics, seven, and nine) and Legend of Legaia, which is a really fun game with a unique style and a plot worthy of final fantasy.

Man, I love that series. Kinda feel like playing through it again... for like the umpteenth time.

I'm gonna try and powergame 'em -- the post above made me decide to try. I'm going to do Torment first, and then the entire BG series all the way through. And all in time for 8/7 (when I go on vacation) before 8/12 (Lionheart).

    Tough, but doable... :)

Heh heh. Sounds like a plan.

My only problem is that my favorite run-throughs of BG2 were with a sorceress and a monk... and I can't play those in BG1... so I have no idea what class to take if I go through the whole mess of 'em again.

Okay, tried Ogre Battle and couldn't stand it. :(

The whole tarot intro kinda turned me off.

But at least Mario RPG is interesting. :)

Hey if you want a good RPG for PS2 get Xeno Saga. But be warned the plot is very in depth and heavy and there will be times where you sit there for over 30 minutes reading. I personally enjoyed it a lot. Or if you just want a great RPG pla Chrono Trigger which you can get in FFC.

I hate almost every RPG, thinking they are stupid.

However there is one RPG I like a lot called Dungeon Master. It's the Old schoolest game but it's funner than any other RPG I've ever seen, which were all crap. It was made in 1986 but I'm sure you can download it from somewhere.

What the heck? Nobody mentioned the best RPG ever made (one of the best games ever on SNES, too): EarthBound. God, I love that game. Mario RPG is good, too.

And as someone else said, Zelda games aren't RPGs. I'm a huge Zelda fan, so I would know. They're adventure games that occasionally have some RPG elements. Zelda II was the only Zelda that can be called an RPG.

Oh, one more thing. One RPG you never even want to touch with a 100 yard pole is Quest 64. Holy crap, that was one of the, if not the, worst games I've ever played. Mindless tedium, a story that goes nowhere, enemies that just wouldn't die... I'm still mad that I spent $5 to rent it a few years ago...
