Haven't been many great scores so far this year, although the blockbuster season seems promising with Elfman, Giacchino, etc. But there have been some nice surprises: Debbie Wiseman was in top form for Lesbian Vampire Killers, which I'd never heard of and don't intend to see, but has a robust score from one of my favorite modern composers. And best action score of the year so far is Stephen Endelman's, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which despite by all accounts being a terrible movie has a fine melodic score from a composer not known for this genre but who clearly has the chops. Both recommended. What other scores have you enjoyed so far in 2009?
