For those of you that attended the Alton Towers trip, you will remember we all had a photo taken, and signed a flag to send to a very special young lady in the states, Katie Johnson.

I got confirmation a couple of days ago that she received the flag and promptly put it up on her wall. :D

However, it is with a great sadness in my heart that I must pass on the information that Katie said goodbye to us all for the last time at 5:20pm US time today. Please join me in wishing her entire family much love in this desperately hard time.

Everytime I saw Katie's parents I was quick to hug them and pray for the whole family during this time. I even tried to help out raising funds to help Katie get better, alot of us did in the 501st.

I am happy to know she no longer suffers but damn the worst thing in the world is to lose one's child. I have already given my son a big hug tonight after hearing the news.

That is terrible news. I bet the Johnson's are devestated, even though they knew this day was coming. At least now, she is free from the pain.

My condolences go out to her family.

mark text me the other night about this and it shocked me so much....to just come out of the blue like that...and i didnt even know the girl but my heartfelt sympathy goes to her family but she is a credit to her family for her showing of strenght and not letting anything dampen her spirits....she is a role model for us all in this day and age

    sweet dreams x

I just got home. I would've been home late last night but I had to stop in Virginia to crash for a few hours because I was physically and mentally wiped out.

It was a beautiful service. Everything about the day said Katie. From the melody of "SpongeBob Square Pants" before the service started, to the look in everyone's eyes as they said goodbye in their own way. The Reverend performed an outstanding sermon. Knowing that Katie loved to pinch people's noses and say "Honk", he left us all with a mental image of Katie tweaking the noses of the Apostles as she was welcomed into Heaven. I never want to forget that image.

When they played Jay's tribute video, there wasn't a dry eye to be found. While the day was tragic, it was also magical. It is something that I will carry with my for the rest of my life.
