    I know it's a Star Wars message board....but...

    For those of you "trekers" like myself and Jim are, some heartfelt news has come our way.

    Long time actor James Doohan (Scotty) passed away today in his home.

    Star Wars or not... this gentle, kind and ever smiling man was a big part of my growing up.

    He will be missed.

    He had been ill for quite a while. I really regret I never had the chance to meet him at a con. He will be sorely missed! Now it's his turn to beam up and rest! Goodbye Scotty! =/\=

    I had the chance to meet this wonderful man about 4 years ago at DragonCon in Atlanta. It was one of his last few appearences and all could tell that his health and memory were starting to fail. I spent some delightful time talking one on one with him in the green room and he indeed was a gentle soul, with a young man's heart.
