Google Ads

Ive just placed some Google Ads on my site (http://www.imperialforces.uni.cc) and recently someone told me that it was illegal. I woudl like to know weather i can get introuble for placing ads on my site and is it a good idea. Does anyone else place ads on their site?

 

When you see google ads, or any type of ad on a site, the ad is generated by the servor. So you really don't need a code for an ad on your site, unless it's a domain - then you won't have ads period. But if I have a free site, your servor will automatically generate the ads you see on your site.

I think he means placing ads to bringing revenue for himself, which is a touchy subject, because it's making money out of Star Wars.

That's not a bad turnaround really. Especially if your sites doesn't get many hits.

Yeah. Internet advertising's not as lucritive as you might think. Certainly not for small sites.

 

I would remove the code you have for banners ads, period. You're making very little money. If you want ads, move to geocities or brinkster.com, they automatically put ads on your site.

That gave me a suprise when i checked it this morning. another 6o cents

So far over 10 days i have earned $1.80US. but if i convert that into NZ dollars it is $2.85 New Zealand. Still not much though...

Again, I would urge you to take down the ad because it's a fansite and it breaches copyright to make money from fansites. YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE MAKING MONEY FROM FANSITES!

A fansite is a non-profit work. If you want to make money, look for a job or something. But don't make money by trying to get people to click on ads (most people despise them, anyway).
