IC: Dreading the impending 'Elevator shaft' horror sequence, JD navigates his way to the nearest elevator shaft and, securing a rope to his makeshift floor (9 and 3/4, if you will... :p), begins the trek down the shaft...

In Game: Yeah...well you guessed it here comes the elevator, up at you from beneath. It appears to be approaching you at speed. Fortunately you have a series of parallel shafts for other elevator that you can swing to the side and land on an intervening structural beam. As you wait for it to pass, you hear the conversation in German within the elevator car.

"We want the intruder alive if possible for questioning unless we have a serious fight on our hands-you only then-have permission to kill him or her with extreme predjudice."

The voice fades out as the car slides up. You now know that this is a team sent to investigate the roof. Some scanner must have been triggered while you were up there cutting into the interior. Your system flushes with adrenalin and things begin to slow down around you. You know that if they figure out what you're up to you can't pull this off without a major fight. You can bet they've probably trained for just this kind of senario too. It's time to start thinking and acting at the same time.

    OOC:
Yes. You have a "Willy" Gun with a full charge of ammo plus a spare clip. (5000 rounds/clip)
.........a set of 12 remote detonatable AM explosive packs with 13 detonators
.........a set of 12 easy twist detchord explosives with timed countdown to boom
    from fifteen minutes.
Your target elevator carriage is still within effective range of your "Willy" Gun. By the way. I like how you think. (Heh, heh.)

IC: The voice of your mission instructor hisses in your mind: "When in doubt take them out!"

In Game: The aiming laser settles on the cables and as the microscopic antimatter particles hit the cables they part as though made of butter and sliced with a hot knife. The sound is a quick succession of bang, pop and twang all in one. Immediately the car begins a rapid desent down the shaft. Two floors down the emergency brakes are engaged and the car begins a rapid deceleration. You anticipating this know what you must do. Take out the brakes!

IC: JD first fires a few shots at the car itself, so as to discourage any debarking by the unfortunate passengers, and then begins firing on the brakes.

In Game: Holed like swisscheese, the brakless elevator car plummets down to the bottom of the shaft and crashes with a resounding bam. You actually feel the impact's shock wave as it reaches back up to where you're at. You now know that they know you're in the elevator shaft network. Time to skedattle!

IC: JD proceeds to 'skedattle'. Wishing he had brought his harness, JD looks around for a cable of some sort that goes all the way to the bottom, gets something to cover his hands, grabs onto the cable, and JUMPS!

In Game: Being that the nearest cable that you find is in the adjacent elevator shaft, you catch it on the fly and swirl downward at a controlled rate. Since you are wearing your mission specific clothing which includes climbing gloves...not a problem.

Five floors down you see an elevator door that's being forced open manually one level beneath you from the hall outside.

As you stop your decent, you notice that the individual is looking downward as if he were looking for someone or something. He appears to be looking back towards someone behind him and speaking with that person in order to update him of what he sees. He has a flash light along with a firearm and is starting to aim it upward in search of anything unusual.

If there is anywhere near that could serve as a hiding place, JD jumps in there. If not, he pulls out his own firearm and SHOOTS!

    In Game:

You notice this individual has an Italian styled flight cap. with a large bill on the front like an American baseball styled cap. This limits his view above him. You don't want his partner to be alerted and call for help either. There is also a reccessed flood light aimed downward that you can hang above, using the light to hide above. Your brain is now in accelerated mode and his motions are slowing down relative to yours. Tactically you don't want them really knowing where you're at; you know you can make it to that blind spot above the searcher's position. You make your first choice and swing the severed cable to position yourself there. He looks up but doesn't spot you above the elevator shaft light due in part to the bill on the front of his cap obscuring his view above. A chance trickle of persperation drops off your chin and down onto his flash light lense! He notices it and says, "Vas es dis"? His partner who is holding him by his pants and belt jerks him into the hallway and starts yelling at him not to lean in so far that he might end up like the elevator. The flash light drops to the floor edge and rolls off into the abyss falling end over end. Close call. You change Shafts and continue down.

    OOC:

Lucky dog! A Willy Gun Shot from that close would have injured if not killed you too! You avoided unneccessary contact and thus made a good call. Willy Guns are great for all out fire fights. But they are not the world's greatest-on any planet-for finness.

IC: JD continues his way down, but taking his time and not going too fast as to make sure he doesn't miss any other potential witnesses.

OOC: I thought the Willy Guns were the ones that were like homing explosives...?

OOC: Willy Guns can be used for 25 feet minimum distance. Any closer and your going to take damage from the back blast taken by your target. You were within 12 feet of your target hanging above him. That is where a silenced slug thrower pistol makes for a better choice of close in elimination. Since you had two targets, there was no guarentee that you would have been able to take both of them out with out there being an uproar and general alarm.

In Game: You don't meet with any further encounters in the alternate shaft to the bottom. There is a large air vent two feet above the bottom of the shaft this leads to a series of branches. The cover is easily removed and replaced behind you.

In Game: After you follow two of the paths to no particular conclusive end, you investigate the third one and find that it leads to a path that has an iris cut off. The iris is shut. There is a key pad next to it. You have a by pass electronic kit. You have been given the training to work a bypass and you succeed in passing it. The iris opens and reveals a path that leads to a long distance down line. There is a flow of air in the direction that you're traveling. Ahead you hear the sound of machinery like a large fan in motion. As you approach you come up to another air duct grid cover.

In Game: After some quick work on the mesh, you pull it up into the air duct and lower yourself down into the hall way. Still no one about. The hallway is well lit and wide like that of a hospital-though there is no other indication as to what this place is. There are a total of seven doors up the hallway ahead of you and twelve doors behind you. There is another door that looks more like a high security blast door ahead of you at the end of the hallway. Suddenly, you hear the sound of somebody approaching from around the corner of the hallway behind you.

    TAG: Zedd. [face_worried]

IC: Doing the whole time-slowing thingie, JD quickly looks around at all the nearby doors to see if they appear to be unlocked. If any of them are, he quickly goes into the room. If there aren't any open rooms, he gets a safe distance away, pulls out the suicide gun, and aims it at the hallway the sound is coming from.
